Charge and maintain your 12V battery through the vehicle's OBD2 diagnostic port -- no hood lifting, no direct battery post contact required. The BatteryMINDer 128CEC1-OBD2 delivers selectable 2, 4, or 8 amps of smart, fully automatic charging with built-in desulfation and support for all common 12V battery chemistries.
Modern vehicles equip the OBD2 port with a direct connection to the vehicle's battery circuit. BatteryMINDer's 128CEC1-OBD2 exploits this with an included SAE-to-OBD2 connector, letting you plug in and maintain your battery from inside the cabin -- no tools, no hood, no fuss. This is especially useful for RVs, tow vehicles, and daily drivers that sit for extended periods between trips.
The charger's push-button controls let you select battery chemistry (flooded, AGM, or gel) and charge rate (2, 4, or 8 amps) to match your battery's needs. Once fully charged, it automatically transitions to a precision maintenance mode, holding the battery at peak capacity indefinitely without overcharging.
Included SAE-to-OBD2 connector lets you charge through the diagnostic port without touching battery terminals or opening the hood.
Push-button charge rate selection lets you match output to battery size and condition -- lower rates for smaller or sensitive batteries, 8A for faster recovery.
Random-sweep desulfation runs continuously to break down sulfation crystals that reduce battery capacity and shorten service life.
Maintain up to 6 batteries simultaneously with optional Y-Connectors (210AY) and Ring Terminals (RTA2415), sold separately.
The 128CEC1-OBD2 is push-button selectable for all common 12V lead-acid chemistries:
The charger automatically detects defective batteries and rejects them, preventing wasted charge cycles or safety issues from a failed cell.
BatteryMINDer's multi-stage charging algorithm delivers a guaranteed 100% full charge and then holds it there -- it cannot overcharge a healthy battery regardless of how long it remains connected.
Built-in LED indicators continuously display:
The OBD2 port on most passenger vehicles and RV tow vehicles is wired directly to the chassis battery. On some vehicles, the OBD2 circuit may be fused below the charger's maximum output -- verify your vehicle's OBD2 fuse rating before selecting the 8A charge rate. Using the 2A setting is safest on vehicles where fuse capacity is unknown.
The watertight enclosure features conformal-coated circuit boards for resistance to moisture, condensation, and vibration -- appropriate for underhood mounting or exterior compartment use. The unit can be wall-mounted (garage/shop) or vehicle-mounted using the integrated mounting provisions. Dimensions are 5.7 inches long x 5.5 inches wide x 2.86 inches tall.
To maintain up to 6 batteries from one charger, add BatteryMINDer Y-Connectors (part 210AY) and Ring Terminal Assemblies (part RTA2415), both sold separately. This is ideal for RVs or boats with multiple house batteries or a chassis/house battery combination.
Y-Connectors (210AY) and Ring Terminal Assemblies (RTA2415) are available separately and allow this single charger to simultaneously maintain up to 6 batteries in an RV, boat, or multi-vehicle storage setup.
