Bilstein 24-020930 B6 4600 Series Shock — Freightliner / Safari Motorhome

Bilstein 24-020930 B6 4600 Series Shock Absorber — Freightliner & Safari Motorhome

Direct-fit front/rear monotube shock for Freightliner V Line, Oshkosh V Line, and Safari Cheetah/Zanzibar Class A motorhomes. 46mm Comfitrac® piston design. Nitrogen gas charged. Sold individually. Made in the USA.

Why Choose the Bilstein 24-020930 for Your Motorhome?

The Bilstein 24-020930 B6 4600 Series Shock Absorber is engineered specifically for Class A motorhomes on the Freightliner V Line and Oshkosh V Line chassis, as well as Safari Cheetah and Zanzibar coaches. Large motorhomes put demands on shock absorbers that no ordinary truck shock is designed to handle — constant load, long highway miles, significant weight, and the unique dynamics of air-ride suspension systems.

Bilstein's answer for motorhome applications is the Comfitrac® working piston — a specially designed piston that reacts instantly to sudden, high-frequency road harshness like dropping a wheel into a pothole, delivering superior comfort and stability without the vague, wallowing feel of worn or generic replacement shocks. The result is a motorhome that feels planted, tracks precisely through corners and lane changes, and reduces the fatigue of long-distance driving.

🚌 RV-Specific Tuning

Valved and tuned specifically for Class A motorhome chassis dynamics — not a generic heavy-duty truck shock

⚡ Comfitrac® Piston

Bilstein's motorhome-specific piston reacts instantly to sudden road harshness for superior comfort and stability

🏔️ 46mm Monotube Design

High-pressure nitrogen gas monotube construction — fade-free, consistent performance under the sustained heavy loads of motorhome travel

🔧 Direct-Fit Replacement

Eyelet upper and lower mounts — bolt-on fit for Freightliner V Line and Safari Cheetah/Zanzibar chassis

Key Features & Benefits

  • Motorhome-Specific Valving: Unlike generic "heavy duty" shocks with ultra-stiff valving, this shock is tuned for your specific motorhome chassis to provide a safe, compliant, and controlled ride
  • Comfitrac® Working Piston: Bilstein's proprietary motorhome piston instantly absorbs sudden high-frequency impacts — potholes, expansion joints, rough pavement — for dramatically improved comfort
  • Greatly Reduces Sway & Bouncing: Increases overall vehicle stability and eliminates the excessive lateral sway and porpoising motion common with worn shocks on Class A coaches
  • Improved Lane Change Stability: Maintains confident directional control during highway lane changes and evasive maneuvers at motorhome speeds
  • 46mm Monotube Construction: Larger working piston area provides more precise damping and better heat dissipation than twin-tube designs — essential for the sustained demands of long-distance driving
  • Nitrogen Gas Charged: High-pressure nitrogen with floating piston prevents oil aeration and heat fade for consistent performance mile after mile
  • Velocity-Sensitive Digressive Valving: Automatically adjusts damping response to changing road conditions and vehicle speed
  • Increases Suspension Carrying Capacity: Handles the weight and towing demands of a fully loaded Class A motorhome without sacrificing ride quality
  • Polished Steel Rod: Corrosion-resistant for long service life in all weather conditions
  • Includes Blue Boot: Protective boot included; mounting hardware not included (uses OEM hardware)
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty: Bilstein's limited lifetime warranty for the original purchaser
  • Made in the USA

⚠️ Before You Order — Key Notes

Chassis Verification Required: This shock fits the Freightliner V Line and Oshkosh V Line chassis, and Safari Cheetah and Zanzibar models on compatible chassis. Safari offered many models across multiple chassis types over the years — always verify your specific chassis make and model before ordering.

Hardware Not Included: Uses existing OEM mounting hardware. Mounting hardware is not included with this shock.

Sold Individually: One shock per package. Bilstein recommends replacing shocks in axle pairs (both front or both rear). Multiple shocks may be needed depending on your chassis configuration — some motorhomes use two shocks per wheel position.

Position: This shock is used in both front and rear positions on compatible chassis. Verify the correct quantity needed for your specific application.

🚌 Motorhome Shock Replacement Tips

Bilstein recommends replacing motorhome shocks in axle pairs — both front shocks together, or both rear shocks together — to maintain balanced handling and consistent ride quality across the axle.

Some Class A motorhome chassis configurations (including certain V Line and Magnum chassis builds) use two shocks per wheel position. Verify the number of shocks on each wheel position of your specific chassis before ordering.

Signs your motorhome shocks need replacement: excessive body roll, front-end dive under braking, porpoising or "boat-like" motion on highway, or reduced steering response.
