The Curt 56190 is a heavy-duty powered taillight converter designed to combine a vehicle's separate brake and turn-signal circuits into the 2-wire configuration used by standard trailer lighting. It splices into the vehicle lighting system and provides a 4-way flat trailer connector for tail lights, brake lights, and turn signals.
Compared with lower-capacity converters, the 56190 supports up to 7.5 amps on each turn/brake circuit and 7.5 amps on the tail-light circuit. Its battery-powered, circuit-protected design and surface-mount electronics help provide reliable operation while reducing electrical load on the vehicle's original lighting circuits.
