Camco 45192 RV Roof Vent Insulator with Reflective Surface, Fits 14" x 14" Vents, 3-Layer

Camco 45192 RV Roof Vent Insulator with Reflective Surface, Fits 14" x 14" Vents, 3-Layer

Three-layer press-in vent insulator that reduces heat transfer through the roof vent opening. Reflective outer surface, 2-3/4" foam core, removable synthetic fleece inner layer. Fits standard 14" x 14" RV roof vents. Keeps the RV cooler in summer and warmer in winter.

About the Camco 45192

The Camco 45192 is a press-in roof vent insulator designed to plug the 14" x 14" roof vent opening from the inside — reducing the heat and cold that transfer into the RV through an uncovered vent. Even with a vent lid closed, the opening and thin plastic cover allow significant thermal transfer in both directions: solar heat pours in through a south-facing vent in summer, and warm interior air leaks out through any vent in winter. The 45192 addresses both directions at once.

It is constructed in three layers: a reflective surface on the outside (room-facing side when installed) that blocks solar radiation and reflects radiant heat, a 2-3/4" thick foam core that provides the primary thermal resistance, and a removable synthetic fleece cover on the inside that can be taken off for cleaning. Installation takes about 30 seconds — press it up into the vent opening until it seats firmly. No tools, no adhesive.

Key Features

  • 3-Layer Construction: Reflective outer surface + 2-3/4" foam insulating core + removable synthetic fleece inner cover
  • Reflective Surface: Blocks solar radiation and reflects radiant heat — reduces heat gain in summer
  • 2-3/4" Foam Core: Substantial foam thickness for meaningful thermal resistance in both summer and winter
  • Removable Fleece Cover: Inner fleece layer can be removed and washed separately
  • Reduces A/C Load: Blocking solar gain through the vent reduces the work your air conditioner has to do
  • Warmer in Winter Too: Foam core reduces warm air loss through the vent opening in cold weather
  • Fits Standard 14" x 14" Vents: The universal size found on most travel trailers, 5th wheels, and motorhomes
  • Tool-Free Installation: Press into the vent opening from below — no hardware or adhesive needed
  • Can Be Stuffed to Fit 13" Vents: Slightly compressible — works in 13" openings with a snug fit

📦 What's Included & How to Install

• 1x Camco 45192 Vent Insulator (reflective surface + foam + fleece cover)

Installation:
Press the insulator up into the vent opening from below — the foam compresses slightly and grips the vent sides to hold in place. No adhesive or tools required. To remove, simply pull down from the interior.

🔢 Related Camco Vent Insulator Options

45192 — With reflective surface, white, 14" x 14" (this item)
45195 — Without reflective surface (foam + fleece only), 14" x 14"
45196 — Black-out version with reflective surface — for complete light blocking
45191 — Reflective interior vent cover (attaches to vent lid face, not press-in)

Choose the 45192 for the best combination of solar blocking and thermal insulation. Choose the 45196 if blocking all light through the vent is also important.

📋 When to Use a Vent Insulator

Summer: Install in any roof vent not actively being used for ventilation — particularly vents exposed to direct sunlight. Solar gain through a 14" x 14" opening adds meaningful heat load to the interior.

Winter: Install in all roof vents during cold-weather camping or storage to prevent warm air from escaping through the vent opening.

Storage: Installing insulators in all vents during long-term storage keeps the interior temperature more stable and reduces moisture condensation.
