Keep your RV cooler and your upholstery protected. The Camco SunShield blocks solar heat and UV radiation at the window before it ever reaches your interior, using a dual-layer reflective film over an air-cell polypropylene core -- the same bubble-insulation principle used in professional building insulation, scaled down for RV windows.
RV windows are large, single-pane or thin-glass panels that admit enormous amounts of radiant heat on sunny days. The SunShield mounts directly over the window interior with included Velcro pads, reflecting solar energy back outward rather than letting it heat your living space. The result is a measurably cooler interior, less load on your roof AC, and reduced fading of fabrics, flooring, and dashboards.
The 50 in. x 30 in. size is engineered for large coach windows, slide-out windows, and wide cab-area openings found on Class A, Class C, and fifth-wheel front windows. When you are done, the SunShield collapses flat for compact, easy storage -- no rigid cardboard or foam to deal with.
Two outer layers of silver reflective film deflect solar radiation and reduce radiant heat gain through the glass.
Lightweight flexible polypropylene air-filled cells provide an insulating buffer between the glass and your interior air.
Included Velcro pads allow tool-free installation and removal -- no drilling, no adhesive residue on window frames.
Folds down to a compact panel for easy storage under a bed, in a cabinet, or behind a seat when not in use.
The SunShield uses a tri-layer sandwich construction: two outer sheets of low-emissivity reflective polyester film bonded to a center layer of air-filled polypropylene bubble cells. This construction is lightweight at just 0.8 lbs. and flexible enough to conform slightly to window contours, while remaining rigid enough to hold its shape across a 50 in. span without sagging.
The silver reflective surface works on both sides -- it reflects outgoing heat back into your RV during cold nights as well as deflecting incoming solar heat during hot days, giving you year-round utility in mild climates.
Installation is straightforward with the pre-included Velcro pads. Clean the window frame surround, attach the hook side of the Velcro pads to the frame, and press the SunShield into place. The cover stays put during travel when properly secured and peels away cleanly when you want ventilation or the view back.
Unlike rigid foam-board windshield shades, the SunShield collapses to a flat, flexible panel you can roll or fold. At 0.8 lbs., it adds almost no weight to your RV. Store it in the same window it covers, behind a bunk, or in an exterior bay when traveling.
