Full-season protection for Class C motorhomes in the 23-to-26-foot range. The Gold Shield 5L uses a five-layer top and three-layer sides built around a micro-porous film core that sheds water and snow while still letting trapped moisture vapor escape -- so you come back to a dry rig, not a moldy one.
Most RV covers fail at two points: the fabric gives out under UV and hail, or the fit loosens over time and the cover turns into a sail. CarCover addresses both with a multi-ply laminate that blocks over 98% of dirt and dust and an adjustable buckle system that eliminates slack without tools.
The slip-seam construction hugs the contours of a Class C cab-over profile, reducing wind load and preventing the flutter that accelerates wear on both the cover and the RV's paint. Elastic hems at the front and rear corners lock the fit at the most vulnerable edges.
Four polypropylene PLUS layers sandwich one micro-porous film layer. Sheds rain and blocks UV while allowing vapor to escape, preventing rot and mildew under the cover.
Two polypropylene PLUS layers plus one micro-porous film layer on all vertical surfaces. Top panel wraps downward for additional overlap coverage at the transition seam.
Adjustable weighted buckles cinch slack on every pass-through strap. Combined with elastic corner hems and a slip-seam profile, the cover stays planted in high-wind storage conditions.
Heavy-duty zippered panels allow entry without removing the cover. Reflective strips on the sides improve nighttime visibility in storage yards or roadside situations.
The "5L" designation refers to the five-layer laminate used on the top panel, the highest-stress area of any RV cover. That top panel faces direct UV radiation, hail, ice, and pooling water. The micro-porous film in the middle of the stack is the critical layer: it has pores large enough to pass water vapor outward but small enough to stop liquid water droplets from penetrating inward.
The side panels step down to three layers -- still including the micro-porous film -- because vertical surfaces see less direct precipitation loading and more wind abrasion. The result is a cover that is lighter overall (25 lbs for a 23-to-26-foot cover) while still providing meaningful protection on every panel.
This cover is sized for Class C motorhomes -- the cab-over body style built on a cutaway van chassis (Ford E-Series, Chevy Express, RAM ProMaster, and similar). The cover profile accounts for the elevated cab-over sleeping area at the front and the taller roofline compared to a travel trailer or fifth wheel of the same length.
The cover accommodates up to three rooftop AC units via reinforced cutout zones. The ladder cap at the rear protects the cover fabric from being sliced by sharp ladder rungs -- a failure point that most budget covers skip entirely. Gutter guards at the roof-to-sidewall transition prevent rain gutter edges from abrading the fabric from the inside.
No tools required. Unfold the cover on the ground next to the RV, use the included carry bag as a staging surface, and feed the cover over the roofline from front to rear (a second person makes this faster on a 26-foot rig). Secure the buckle straps under the chassis and tighten. Elastic corners snap into place at the cab-over nose and the rear cap.
You can wash the cover by hand or in a washing machine. For hand washing, install the cover on your RV, rinse it with a hose, then use a cloth and multi-purpose cleaner to scrub. Rinse again and either towel dry or let it air dry.
For machine washing, use the largest machine available, set it to gentle mode, and wash with mild powder detergent in cold water—avoid bleach and fabric softeners. Rinse the cover twice to remove all detergent, and always air dry.
