A cracked, faded, or missing idler cover leaves the idler wheel assembly of your Travel'R awning exposed to UV, road grime, and moisture. This direct-fit Carefree replacement snaps in where the old one came out -- same mounting points, same profile, same black finish -- and includes the screws so you can close the job in minutes.
The idler side of a Travel'R awning takes the same sun, rain, and highway exposure as the motor side but gets less attention at service time. The plastic cover that shields the idler wheel and axle pin can crack from UV degradation or break during a slide-out collision long before the awning itself fails. Replacing it early keeps grit and water off the wheel bearing surfaces and preserves the smooth roll-out action Travel'R owners expect.
Carefree part R001329BLK is the left-side cover -- the idler (non-motor) arm as viewed from outside the RV, standing at the road-side and facing the coach. It is injection-molded to match the original geometry so it registers on the existing screw bosses without drilling or modification.
Designed specifically for the Carefree Travel'R awning series. Mounts to existing screw bosses -- no drilling, no adapters.
Molded-in black coloring resists fading and matches the original Travel'R arm aesthetic straight out of the bag.
Mounting screws are packed in the box so you have everything needed for a complete swap without a hardware store run.
Covers the idler (non-motor) wheel assembly on the left arm. Verify your awning side before ordering -- the right-side cover is a separate part number.
Travel'R awnings retract on a roller tube driven by a motor on one arm and guided by a free-spinning idler wheel on the opposite arm. The idler cover is the plastic housing that caps the idler wheel assembly, keeping road spray, insects, and UV off the bearing and axle pin. It is a wear-and-replace part -- not a structural component -- so swapping it yourself is a straightforward job with a basic screwdriver.
Awning side orientation is determined by standing outside the RV, facing the coach wall. The left arm is on your left; the right arm is on your right. On Travel'R awnings the motor arm is typically on the right (curb side on most North American RVs), making the left arm the idler side. If your coach is configured differently, verify before ordering. The matching right-side idler cover and motor-side covers are sold separately.
This cover is designed for the Carefree Travel'R awning series. It is not designed for Carefree Fiesta, Freedom, or Endeavor series awnings, which use different arm profiles and cover geometries. Check your awning label or the Carefree serial tag on the arm casting before purchasing.
