The Coleman Mach 8630A635 is the heat pump variant of the ChillGrille ceiling assembly family, designed specifically for lateral ducted installations with the 47000, 48000, and 49000 series rooftop heat pumps and heat-ready air conditioners. It replaces the earlier 8530B633 and delivers the same dual-mode airflow control that defines the ChillGrille platform.
The DirectFlow Louver System is the central feature: open the three louvers built into the grille perimeter to channel conditioned air — whether cooled or heated — directly down into the RV cabin below. Close them to divert airflow through the existing lateral duct system, distributing conditioned air throughout the RV via the in-wall or in-ceiling ductwork. This gives occupants real-time control over where the air goes without any tools or complex adjustments.
The 86xx prefix distinguishes this assembly from the 84xx ChillGrille series: the 8630A635 includes a control box wired for full heat pump operation, whereas the 8430-series assemblies are configured for cool-only or heat-ready AC use only. For a heat pump system, the 8630A635 is the required ceiling assembly — the 8430 variants will not correctly interface with heat pump rooftop units.
The EZReach Filter System provides tool-free access to the two included washable air filters — simply loosen the fastener and swing out the grille to remove, rinse, and reinstall. The slender low-profile euro styling sits flush against the ceiling and covers existing ceiling imprints from prior assembly installations, making it a clean upgrade option as well as a replacement.

The 8630A635 is heat-ready — electric backup heat strips are available as an optional add-on but are not included. Order the correct heat strip for your rooftop unit series: • 4700 series: Use heat strip #47233-4551 • 48000 and 49000 series: Use heat strip #9233A4551 The heat strip installs into the return air opening of the ceiling plenum and provides electric backup heat when heat pump operation is insufficient in very cold ambient temperatures.

The 84xx prefix indicates a cool-only or heat-ready AC control box — these will not correctly interface with heat pump units. If your rooftop unit is a heat-ready AC only (not a heat pump), use the 8430A635 instead.

All three assemblies use the DirectFlow Louver System and EZReach washable filters. The critical differentiator is the control box: 86xx assemblies are wired for heat pump operation; 84xx assemblies are not. For heat pump rooftop units, only the 8630A635 is compatible.
