Without it, a hose forced into a sharp angle or left hanging can crimp or wear down over time, restricting water flow. This lead-free brass elbow absorbs that angle instead, letting the hose run straight down without kinking. A removable screen filter is built in to catch debris coming from the outside water source before it reaches the RV's plumbing, and the fitting is sized for standard 3/4" diameter hose connections.
