Lippert 5,200 lb Axle One Hub Kit Lippert 333949 Bearing Replacement Kit -- Dexter and Al-Ko 5,200 lb Axles

Everything you need to repack one trailer hub on a 5,200 lb capacity Lippert, Dexter, or Al-Ko axle -- matched bearings, cups, grease seal, and cotter pin, all in one kit. Stop sourcing parts individually and get back on the road with confidence.

Complete Hub Repack in One Box

Wheel bearing maintenance is one of the most important -- and most overlooked -- service items on any towed trailer or RV. Neglected bearings run hot, wear unevenly, and can fail at highway speed. Lippert's 333949 kit takes the guesswork out of a bearing service by bundling every component needed for one full hub repack into a single, matched set.

This kit is engineered to fit the 5,200 lb axle assemblies produced by Lippert, Dexter, and Al-Ko -- three of the most common axle brands found under travel trailers, fifth wheels, and utility trailers. If your rig rides on one of these axles and you're due for a bearing repack (or you've heard that telltale growl), this is the kit to grab.

Matched Bearing Set

Includes LM67048 outer bearing and 25580 inner bearing -- industry-standard tapered roller bearings for this axle class.

Cups Included

LM67010 outer cup and 25520 inner cup are included so you can replace the full bearing assembly, not just the rollers.

Grease Seal and Cotter Pin

Pre-selected grease seal and cotter pin eliminate separate sourcing trips and ensure correct fitment for this hub size.

Three-Brand Fitment

Confirmed fit for 5,200 lb Lippert, Dexter, and Al-Ko axles -- the most widely deployed trailer axle platforms in the RV market.

What's Included in Kit 333949

This kit contains all components required to repack one axle hub. For a complete axle with two hubs (one per side), order two kits.

  • (1) LM67048 outer bearing (tapered roller)
  • (1) LM67010 outer cup (race)
  • (1) 25580 inner bearing (tapered roller)
  • (1) 25520 inner cup (race)
  • (1) Grease seal (pre-selected for this hub bore)
  • (1) Cotter pin
Why Replace the Cups Too? Bearing cups (races) wear in a matched pattern with their rollers. Reusing worn cups with new bearings accelerates wear and can cause premature failure. Replacing both together -- as this kit allows -- restores proper geometry and maximizes service life.

Axle and Hub Compatibility

The LM67048/LM67010 outer bearing and 25580/25520 inner bearing pairing is the standard specification for hubs used on 5,200 lb capacity trailer axles. This covers a wide range of axle assemblies produced by Lippert, Dexter, and Al-Ko for travel trailers, fifth wheels, horse trailers, car haulers, and utility trailers with individual axle ratings at or near 5,200 lbs.

If you're unsure of your axle rating, check the axle tube or the trailer's compliance label (usually inside a cabinet or on the frame rail). The axle rating is typically stamped or labeled near the spindle end or on the axle manufacturer's tag.

One Kit = One Hub: A standard tandem-axle trailer has four hubs total -- two axles, two hubs per axle. Order the number of kits equal to the number of hubs you plan to service. Many technicians and full-timers repack all hubs on a scheduled basis and order a full set.

When to Replace Trailer Wheel Bearings

Bearing service intervals depend on load, speed, and conditions, but general guidelines for RV and trailer use include:

  • Repack or inspect every 10,000 to 12,000 miles as a baseline service interval
  • After any water immersion event (boat ramp launching, flood, stream crossing)
  • If you hear grinding, rumbling, or growling from a wheel area at speed
  • If a hub runs noticeably hotter than others after a trip
  • If play is detected in the wheel when checked by hand at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions
  • Any time discoloration (blueing) or pitting is visible on the bearing rollers or cup surface
Maintenance Tip: Always use a high-quality, water-resistant wheel bearing grease rated for trailer applications when repacking. Ensure the hub cavity is properly packed and the new grease seal is seated squarely and fully before reassembly. Torque the spindle nut to the axle manufacturer's specification, then back off to the nearest cotter pin hole for a proper running preload.

Tools and Supplies You'll Also Need

This kit supplies the bearings, cups, seal, and cotter pin -- the following items are not included but are needed for a complete bearing service:

  • High-temperature, water-resistant wheel bearing grease (NLGI Grade 2 recommended)
  • Hub puller or slide hammer for cup removal
  • Seal driver or appropriate socket for seal installation
  • Torque wrench
  • Spindle nut socket (typically 1-1/16 in. or 1-1/4 in. for this axle class)
  • Brake cleaner and clean shop rags

Important Information
  • This kit services ONE hub only. A two-axle trailer has four hubs total -- order additional kits as needed for full service coverage.
  • Verify your axle's rated capacity before ordering. This kit is designed for 5,200 lb axles; using it on a different capacity axle may result in incorrect bearing fitment.
  • Always inspect the spindle for grooves, scoring, or heat discoloration before installing new bearings. A damaged spindle will destroy new bearings quickly.
  • Seat the grease seal squarely and fully using a proper seal driver -- cocked or partially seated seals will fail and allow grease contamination of brake components.
  • Do not over-pack the hub cavity with grease. Excess grease can migrate into electric brake drums and cause brake failure.
  • Torque the spindle nut to axle manufacturer specifications and secure with the supplied cotter pin before reinstalling the dust cap and wheel.
  • Never reuse a cotter pin once removed -- always install the new pin supplied in this kit.
