Lippert 2023133981 Trailer Bearing Replacement Kit -- 5,200-lb Hubs, 2.25" Grease Seal
A complete, ready-to-install bearing service kit for Lippert 5,200-lb trailer axle hubs. Sourced to match OEM specs so you get the right fit the first time, whether you are repacking at a scheduled interval or responding to a failed bearing on the road.
Trailer wheel bearings take a beating -- constant load, heat cycles, road vibration, and water intrusion from boat ramps or stream crossings. Lippert specifies regular bearing inspection and repacking for all their axle lines, and when it is time to replace rather than repack, this kit gives you every component in a single part number.
Kit 2023133981 (vendor part 08-7921) is engineered for Lippert 5,200-lb capacity axle hubs. The 2.25-inch grease seal is the correct diameter for this axle class, and the included bearing cones and cup races are matched pairs -- inner and outer -- so you are not mixing part numbers from different lots.
Inner and outer cones supplied with their matched cup races for precise, zero-guesswork fitment.
Correct-diameter seal for 5,200-lb Lippert axle spindles. No separate seal purchase needed.
Cotter pin and tang spindle washer included so the hub goes back together with all-new fastening hardware.
Sized and rated to Lippert's published specifications for 5,200-lb axle hubs -- direct replacement, no adaptation required.
This is a complete bearing service kit. The following components are included:
This kit services an existing hub -- the hub drum/flange assembly is sold separately. If your hub is cracked, corroded, or scored, replace the hub assembly before installing new bearings.
This kit is rated and sized for 5,200-lb capacity Lippert trailer axles. Lippert produces several axle weight classes (3,500 lb, 5,200 lb, 6,000 lb, 7,000 lb), and bearing dimensions differ between them. Do not use this kit on a 3,500-lb or 7,000-lb axle -- the seal OD and bearing bore sizes will not match.
If you are unsure of your axle rating, check the sticker or stamp on the axle tube itself. Lippert axles are typically stamped near the spring seat. The axle rating also appears on your trailer's federal certification label (door jamb or front wall).
Lippert recommends inspecting and repacking bearings every 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. Full bearing replacement (this kit) is recommended any time you see pitting, spalling, discoloration from heat, or roughness when spinning the bearing by hand. Do not repack and reinstall a bearing that shows any of these signs.
Standard hub-bearing service practice applies. You will need bearing grease (not included), a seal driver or appropriate socket to seat the new seal flush, snap-ring pliers if your hub uses a retaining ring, and a torque wrench for the spindle nut. Reinstall the spindle nut to the manufacturer's specified torque, then back off and re-torque per Lippert's adjustment procedure to achieve the correct bearing preload -- do not over-tighten.
Replace the grease seal every time the hub is pulled, even if the old seal looks serviceable. Seals compress and take a set during use; reinstalling an old seal dramatically increases the chance of grease loss and water intrusion. This kit includes a new seal, so there is no reason to reuse the old one.
