This covers a large portion of Lippert's straight and torsion axle lineup used across travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers, and utility trailers. Before ordering, verify your hub bore inner diameter (2.561 in) and spindle shaft outer diameter (1.719 in) against the existing seal or your axle specification sheet -- axle weight rating alone is not sufficient confirmation because some specialty hubs in this weight class use different spindle diameters.
Grease seal installation requires a seal driver or a properly sized socket to press the seal flush and square into the hub bore without cocking or distorting the seal lip. Do not hammer directly on the seal face. Clean the hub bore thoroughly before installation and apply a light film of wheel bearing grease to the outer case to ease installation and prevent bore fretting. Always replace both seals on the axle at the same service interval -- mismatched seal wear creates an uneven protection profile.
Lippert and most trailer manufacturers recommend bearing repacks -- including seal replacement -- every 12,000 miles or once per year, whichever comes first.
