A purpose-built supply line for connecting a standard Type 1 (ACME) propane cylinder to your RV's two-stage or single-stage regulator. The integrated back check valve prevents reverse gas flow, making this the correct choice for dual-tank manifold applications where one tank supplies while the other stands by.
Most travel trailers, fifth wheels, and motorhomes with dual-cylinder setups use a changeover regulator that draws from one tank at a time. When the active tank runs out, the regulator switches to the standby tank. Without a back check valve on each pigtail, gas from the live tank can flow backward through the empty-tank hose -- a condition that leads to improper combustion and potential safety hazards.
The MB Sturgis 100575-60-MBS solves this by embedding a back check valve directly into the Type 1 connector body. No separate inline check needed. The 60-inch (5 ft) length gives enough slack to connect cylinders in most standard RV propane compartments without tension on the fittings, even when tanks are repositioned for filling.
Prevents reverse flow from active tank into standby side. Required for proper dual-tank manifold operation.
Connects to standard POL-replaced Type 1 (ACME) valve found on virtually all modern U.S. propane cylinders 4 lb and larger.
Industry-standard regulator-side fitting. Mates directly to most two-stage and automatic-changeover RV regulators.
Exceeds the combined demand of typical RV appliance loads -- furnace, water heater, range, and refrigerator running simultaneously.
Getting the fittings right on a propane hose is critical. Here is what you have on each end of the 100575-60-MBS:
In a dual-tank system, both pigtails connect to the same regulator manifold. When one cylinder empties, its pressure drops to zero. If neither pigtail has a back check valve, propane from the full tank can flow backward through the empty-tank hose and vent to atmosphere. The back check valve in this fitting closes automatically when downstream pressure drops below supply pressure, preventing that reverse flow. This hose is designed to be used in pairs -- one on each cylinder -- for a complete, code-correct dual-tank setup.
This pigtail is appropriate for use with automatic-changeover regulators (such as Marshall Excelsior, Cavagna, and MB Sturgis two-stage units) as well as manual two-stage regulators with dual inlets. It replaces worn, kinked, or cracked pigtails on travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers, and destination trailers using standard ACME-valve propane cylinders (typically 20 lb or 30 lb tanks).
This listing is for a single pigtail hose. A dual-tank setup requires two pigtails -- one per cylinder. Verify your regulator inlet accepts 1/4" female inverted flare before ordering. If your regulator uses a 9/16" left-hand (POL) inlet, you need a different regulator-end fitting.
