Keep your RV slide room from sagging, bouncing, or racking while parked or in storage. These heavy-duty adjustable supports brace the underside of your extended slide-out, reducing stress on the slide mechanism and leveling any sag caused by weight or uneven ground.
RV slide-out rooms add living space, but they also add stress to your rig. Over time, an unsupported extended slide can sag, putting constant lateral load on the slide motor, rack-and-pinion gears, or hydraulic cylinder -- and warping the slide seal contact. The Camco Eaz-Lift 48866 supports take that weight off the mechanism entirely, bracing the slide floor from underneath.
Sold as a matched set of two supports, these are sized for full-width slide rooms as well as smaller tip-outs. The telescoping tube extends from 19 inches to 47 inches, covering a wide range of RV heights and slide floor positions. Each support is rated at 5,000 lb, for a combined set capacity of 10,000 lb -- more than enough for even the heaviest residential-style slide rooms loaded with furniture and appliances.
Telescopes from 19 in. to 47 in. to fit most Class A, Class C, fifth-wheel, and travel trailer slide heights.
Rated at 5,000 lb per support. Set of 2 provides up to 10,000 lb total bracing capacity.
Two supports per package -- enough to brace one slide room with a support at each end of the slide floor.
Reduces load on slide motors, gears, and cylinders by transferring slide weight directly to the ground.
Without support, an extended slide room acts as a cantilevered load. The floor of a fully loaded bedroom or living room slide can exert hundreds of pounds of downward force on the slide frame, pinching seals unevenly and fatiguing the slide mechanism over hundreds of extension cycles. Using ground supports whenever the slide is extended for more than a short stop is standard practice for full-timers and long-term campers.
The Eaz-Lift 48866 supports are positioned under the extended slide room floor, near the outer corners. You adjust the height with the telescoping tube and lock it, then let the support carry the weight. When you're ready to retract, you remove the supports first -- they are not designed to remain in contact while the slide moves.
For seasonal or long-term storage with the slide out, place supports under each outer corner of the slide floor. This reduces seal compression fatigue and helps the room retain its alignment. Re-check and re-lock the height adjustment if the ground settles after rain or soft soil conditions.
Each support uses a heavy-gauge steel telescoping tube construction finished to resist corrosion in outdoor conditions. The base footpad is wide enough to distribute load on dirt, gravel, and paved surfaces without digging in or tipping. The locking mechanism secures the selected height without tools -- adjust by hand and tighten.
The top contact pad is designed to bear against the slide room floor without scratching or damaging the underbelly material. Position supports carefully to contact a structural framing member or the slide floor's cross-brace, not thin underbelly skin panel alone.
Always position the top pad against a solid cross-member or framing member under the slide room -- not against flexible underbelly material. If you cannot confirm the structural member location, place a scrap of 3/4-inch plywood across the support top to distribute the load across a wider contact area.
Camco packages the 48866 in bilingual English/French retail packaging, consistent with Canadian market distribution requirements. Both supports are identical and interchangeable. SKU 48866, vendor part number 15-1824, UPC 014717488662.
Remove both supports completely before operating the slide-out mechanism to retract or extend the room. Attempting to retract the slide with supports in contact can damage the slide mechanism, the support, or the slide room floor structure. Supports are a stationary bracing aid only -- they are not rated for dynamic loads.
