Genuine Lippert replacement hardware for tandem axle leaf spring suspension systems. This kit supplies the bolts and shackles needed to secure your leaf springs to the hanger brackets -- built for trailers and RVs rated up to 8,000 lbs. tandem axle capacity. Equalizer and spring hangers are not included.
Leaf spring attaching hardware takes constant road vibration, load cycling, and exposure to road grime. When bolts stretch, shackle pins wear, or fasteners corrode, the entire suspension system loses its geometry -- and your axle alignment follows. The Lippert 146291 kit gives you the correct OEM-spec hardware to restore a properly functioning tandem axle suspension without hunting down individual fasteners from multiple sources.
This kit is designed for tandem axle trailer configurations using standard non-greasable attaching bolts and 2-1/4 in. shackles. It matches the hardware Lippert installs at the factory on a wide range of travel trailers, fifth wheels, and toy haulers equipped with leaf spring suspension. Vendor part number 71-3823 is the cross-reference used by Lippert distributors.
Included fasteners require no grease fittings or periodic lubrication service -- install and go.
Shackle length matches OEM tandem axle leaf spring geometry for correct suspension travel and alignment.
Hardware sized and rated for tandem axle setups up to 8,000 lbs. combined axle capacity.
Direct factory replacement -- no guessing about thread pitch, shackle width, or bolt grade compatibility.
An AP kit -- attaching parts kit -- contains the bolts, nuts, shackle plates, and associated fasteners that connect the leaf springs to the spring hangers and equalizer brackets on a trailer axle suspension. These components are separate from the leaf spring packs themselves and from the equalizer (the center pivot link between tandem springs). If you are rebuilding or replacing your spring suspension, the AP kit ensures you have the correct hardware grade and geometry without improvising with generic hardware-store fasteners.
Lippert offers both standard (non-greasable) and greasable attaching bolt configurations. Greasable bolts have a zerk fitting drilled through the bolt shank and require periodic greasing to prevent wear at the shackle pivot. Standard bolts use a solid shank with no grease port. This kit -- part 146291 -- uses standard non-greasable bolts. Verify which style your existing suspension uses before ordering. If your hangers have grease fittings, you need the greasable bolt version.
