Lippert 7,000-lb Axle OEM-Spec Replacement Lippert 2023133983 Trailer Hub Bearing Replacement Kit

The right bearings for your 7,000-lb axle hub -- all four critical components in one kit. Covers both the inner and outer bearing positions with industry-standard numbered races and cups so you can complete a full repack or bearing swap without hunting down individual pieces.

Complete Bearing Service in One Box

Lippert part number 2023133983 (vendor PN 08-7922) is a purpose-built bearing replacement kit for Lippert-compatible 7,000-lb trailer axle hubs. Whether you are doing a routine repack before a long trip or replacing bearings after a hub overheating event, this kit puts the correct inner and outer bearing cones and races in your hands without guesswork.

The kit uses well-established industry-standard bearing numbers that match the original specifications for this axle class. The 25580 inner bearing cone and 25520 inner cup pair with the 14125A outer bearing cone and 14276 outer cup -- the same combination specified by Lippert and widely used across 7,000-lb capacity trailer axle hubs on travel trailers, fifth wheels, and toy haulers.

Inner Bearing Cone

25580 tapered roller cone rated for the radial and thrust loads of a 7,000-lb axle hub.

Inner Bearing Cup

25520 inner race cup -- matched to the 25580 cone for correct geometry and load rating.

Outer Bearing Cone

14125A tapered roller cone for the outboard bearing position on the spindle.

Outer Bearing Cup

14276 outer race cup -- paired with the 14125A cone for proper fit and load distribution.

What Is Included in This Kit

  • 1x 25580 inner bearing cone (tapered roller)
  • 1x 25520 inner bearing cup (race)
  • 1x 14125A outer bearing cone (tapered roller)
  • 1x 14276 outer bearing cup (race)

Note: This kit supplies bearings and races for one hub. For a full axle service (two hubs), order two kits. Bearing grease, hub seal, and cotter pin are not included.

Bearing Identification Reference

These bearing numbers follow the Timken/industry standard designation system used across most North American trailer axle manufacturers. If your existing hub hardware is stamped or marked with 14125A, 14276, 25580, or 25520, this kit is a direct match. Always verify your existing bearing numbers before ordering if you are unsure of your axle rating.

Not Included -- You Will Also Need

  • Hub grease seal (match to your specific hub bore diameter)
  • Wheel bearing grease rated for trailer applications (NLGI Grade 2 recommended)
  • Cotter pin for spindle nut retention
  • Spindle nut and washer if worn or damaged

When to Replace Your Trailer Hub Bearings

Tapered roller bearings in trailer hubs are wear items. Lippert and most axle manufacturers recommend inspection at least once per year or every 12,000 miles -- whichever comes first. Replace immediately if you detect any of the following:

  • Roughness or grinding noise when spinning the wheel by hand with the hub jacked up
  • Visible pitting, spalling, or discoloration on the rollers or races
  • Excessive play in the wheel when rocked side-to-side (radial looseness beyond normal end-play adjustment)
  • Heat discoloration or melted grease residue on the hub or spindle -- signs of a prior overheating event that can harden or crack the bearing steel
  • Any bearing that has been submerged in water (stream crossing, flood) without immediate re-inspection and repacking

Bearing Repack Tip

When pressing new cups into the hub bore, ensure each cup is fully seated -- flush or slightly below the hub face. A cup that is not fully seated will allow the cone to cock under load, leading to premature failure. Use a brass punch or proper bearing driver; never drive on the roller cage directly. Pack the cone thoroughly with bearing grease before installation, and fill the hub cavity approximately one-third full.

Important Information

  • One kit services one hub only. Order two kits for a full dual-hub axle service.
  • Grease, seal, cotter pin, and spindle nut are NOT included. Purchase these separately before beginning your service.
  • Verify bearing numbers on your current hub before ordering. The 14125A outer and 25580 inner bearings are common but not universal -- some 7,000-lb hubs use different bearing numbers depending on manufacturer and spindle diameter.
  • Never reuse a bearing cup that shows pitting, spalling, or heat discoloration. Cups are part of this kit and should always be replaced with the cones.
  • Torque the spindle nut to specification after installation and confirm correct bearing pre-load before road use. Overtightening causes rapid heat failure; undertightening causes looseness and cone walking.
  • This product is intended for trailer axle use. Not rated for automotive steering or drive axle applications.
