The Lippert 771412 replaces the front cover on the idler head of a Lippert Edge RV awning — the non-motorized end of the awning arm assembly, opposite the drive head. Facing the awning from outside the RV, the idler head is on the left. When the original cover cracks or breaks from sun and weather exposure, this part restores the finished appearance of the awning arm and protects the idler head components underneath.
Lippert Edge awning head covers come in several distinct configurations. The drive head is the motor-powered end of the awning arm; the idler head is the opposite, non-motorized end. To access and replace the cover, extend the awning out far enough to reach the mounting screw behind the cover. Remove the screw, then pull the front and back covers off the awning arm. Installation is the reverse of removal. Reuse the existing mounting hardware.
