The Curt 56236 is a universal splice-in taillight converter designed for vehicles that do not have a compatible plug-and-play trailer wiring harness available. It converts 2-wire, 3-wire, PWM ST, and PWM STT vehicle lighting signals into a standard 2-wire trailer lighting configuration with a 4-way flat connector.
Its potted enclosure seals the internal electronics against moisture, vibration, and road exposure. Surface-mount circuitry and a built-in microcontroller provide fast response to overloads while helping protect both vehicle and trailer lighting circuits.
