The four metal corner grommets are sized for standard patio mat stakes. Lippert-compatible stakes are sold separately under part number 2-2001. Staking is recommended any time wind is a factor -- a loose mat bunching under a chair leg is a trip hazard. Push stakes through the grommets at a slight angle away from the mat center for the best hold in softer ground.
After your trip, shake off loose debris and rinse the mat thoroughly with a hose. A power washer on a low fan setting clears packed-in dirt quickly. Let it air dry completely before folding -- rolling or folding a damp mat and storing it in a bag or bay can encourage mildew even on a resistant material.
