Lippert through-frame slide-out systems use a horizontal motor that drives a rack-and-pinion through the frame rail. The 143701 motor fits the following tube configurations:

Before You Replace the Motor

A motor that stalls or refuses to run is not always a failed motor. Before removing the 143701, check these common causes of slide-out failure:

Battery voltage at the motor leads -- must be 12V DC under load (low coach battery is the most common culprit)
Blown or undersized fuse in the slide-out circuit
Corroded or loose wiring connectors at the motor and the controller
Binding in the slide mechanism itself -- debris, bent rack sections, or worn guides can overload a healthy motor
Slide-out controller or limit switch failure -- the motor may be fine but not receiving a run signal

Installation Tips

Disconnect shore power and the coach battery before beginning any slide-out motor work
Mark the pinion gear orientation before removing the old motor so the new unit goes back in the same position
Apply a light coat of lithium grease to the drive shaft splines and rack teeth during reassembly
After installation, cycle the slide room in and out several times and verify limit switch engagement at both ends of travel
