The Camco 40409 is a direct replacement for the ducted return air grille assembly used on compatible Dometic RV rooftop air conditioning units. Dometic ducted systems distribute conditioned air through ceiling ducts and return it through a ceiling-mounted grille -- that grille and its foam filter are the components this kit replaces.
Over time, the plastic grille can crack or yellow from UV exposure and cleaning, while the foam filter becomes loaded with dust, pet hair, and road debris. A clogged or missing filter forces the A/C to work harder, reduces cooling efficiency, and can cause evaporator coil icing. Replacing both components together is the correct service approach.

The included foam filter is reusable. Rinse, allow to dry fully, and reinstall. Replacement filters available separately as Camco 40408 (4-pack).
