Camco 40620 EVO Premium Spun Polypropylene Replacement VOC/Bilge Filter Cartridge - 10 Inch

Camco 40620 EVO Premium Spun Polypropylene Replacement VOC/Bilge Filter Cartridge - 10 Inch

Premium replacement filter cartridge for compatible Camco EVO water filter housings, using spun polypropylene, KDF®, and GAC filtration to help reduce sediment, taste, odor, chlorine, bacteria, heavy metals, and VOCs.

Why Use the Camco 40620 EVO Premium Cartridge?

The Camco 40620 EVO Premium replacement cartridge is designed for compatible Camco EVO water filter housings. It provides a replacement filtration element for RV, marine, and outdoor water setups using the EVO-style canister system.

Filtration begins as water passes through a porous spun polypropylene shell with openings no greater than 5 microns. Water then passes through KDF® and GAC/granulated activated carbon media to help reduce unwanted taste, odor, sediment, chlorine, bacteria, heavy metals, and VOCs.

🚰 EVO Replacement

🧼 5-Micron Shell

Porous spun polypropylene shell helps filter sediment and particles

⚙️ KDF® + GAC

Media blend helps reduce taste, odor, chlorine, bacteria, and metals

🌫️ VOC Reduction

Premium carbon helps absorb VOCs and improve water quality

⚠️ Important Compatibility Note

This is a replacement cartridge for compatible Camco EVO water filter housings and is not a complete filter housing by itself. Before ordering, confirm the existing filter housing accepts Camco EVO replacement cartridges and verify the cartridge size required.

Filter cartridges are maintenance items and should be replaced regularly based on water quality, usage, flow reduction, taste/odor changes, or manufacturer recommendations.

📋 Replacement Overview

Before Starting: Turn off the water supply, relieve system pressure, and place a towel or container below the filter housing to catch residual water.

Basic Replacement Steps:

1. Shut Off Water: Turn off campground/city water or pump supply before opening the housing.

2. Relieve Pressure: Open a faucet briefly to reduce pressure in the water line.

3. Open Filter Housing: Unscrew the compatible EVO housing canister according to the housing instructions.

4. Remove Old Cartridge: Take out the used cartridge and dispose of it properly.

5. Inspect Housing: Check the canister, O-ring, and sealing surfaces for debris, cracks, or damage.

6. Install New Cartridge: Place the Camco 40620 replacement cartridge into the housing in the correct orientation.

7. Reassemble Housing: Tighten the housing securely without overtightening.

8. Flush Cartridge: Restore water flow and flush the filter until water runs clear and any loose carbon fines are cleared.

9. Check for Leaks: Inspect the housing and fittings before putting the system back into normal use.

Water Filter Troubleshooting — Cartridge vs. System Issues

Issue Possible Cartridge / Setup Cause Other Causes to Check
Low water flow
Cartridge may be clogged, saturated, or not flushed properly
Low campground pressure, clogged hose, restricted regulator, kinked line, closed valve, or RV plumbing restriction
Bad taste or odor remains
Cartridge may be spent or water source may exceed filter capability
Dirty freshwater tank, old hose, contaminated source, stagnant water, water heater odor, or plumbing buildup
Black carbon fines after install
New carbon cartridge may need additional flushing
Incorrect cartridge orientation, loose media, dirty housing, or sediment in supply line
Leak at housing
Cartridge may not be seated correctly or housing may not be tightened evenly
Damaged O-ring, cracked housing, debris on seal, overtightening, cross-threading, or high water pressure
Cartridge does not fit
Housing may require a different cartridge size or style
Non-EVO housing, wrong cartridge length, wrong diameter, missing adapter, or incompatible seal design
Frequent replacement needed
Water source may contain high sediment, chlorine, odor, or contaminants
No pre-filter, dirty campground water, high usage, old tank deposits, or system contamination

If filtration issues continue after replacement, check the water source, hose, pressure regulator, housing O-ring, freshwater tank, plumbing lines, and cartridge maintenance interval before replacing additional parts.
