The BX88266 bolts to the front bumper of the vehicle to be towed. Most bumpers will require modification and/or reinforcement before these brackets can be safely used — the mounting surface must be a flat, metal bumper structure capable of handling 20,000 lb towing loads. Plastic bumper covers, thin sheetmetal, and factory bumpers with internal foam are typically not suitable without professional fabrication work. Blue Ox strongly recommends installation by a trained professional. Do not install or use this equipment until the installation instructions have been read and understood.
