A short, flexible propane pigtail that bridges your Type 1 QCC cylinder to a 1/4-inch inverted flare regulator inlet -- the standard connection used on most RV two-stage and single-stage regulators. Built to handle the demands of full-time RV living, weekend camping, and trailer-mounted propane systems.
The Flame King E12INPT is a 12-inch rubber pigtail hose designed to connect a standard Type 1 (QCC-1) propane cylinder valve to a regulator or manifold with a 1/4-inch inverted flare inlet. At 12 inches, it provides enough slack to prevent stress on the cylinder valve and regulator fittings while keeping the connection tidy in a propane compartment or exterior tank bracket.
This is the hose you reach for when replacing a cracked, kinked, or sun-damaged pigtail on an existing RV propane setup, or when plumbing a new dual-cylinder manifold system. It is compatible with standard DOT/CGA compliant setups where a QCC outlet must terminate at an inverted flare inlet.
ACME left-hand thread fitting mates securely to standard Type 1 QCC-1 propane cylinder valves -- no tools required for hand-tight connection.
Right-hand 1/4-inch inverted flare male fitting threads directly into compatible regulator inlets and manifold blocks common on RV systems.
Provides enough flex to absorb minor vibration and misalignment between cylinder and regulator without stressing either fitting.
Sized for standard propane compartments and exterior tank brackets found on travel trailers, fifth wheels, and motorhomes.
The E12INPT bridges two of the most common propane connection points in the RV world:
In a typical twin-cylinder RV setup, two of these pigtails run from each cylinder to an automatic changeover regulator. The E12INPT replaces hoses from manufacturers such as Cavagna, Marshall Excelsior, Fairview, and others that use the same end fittings.
The E12INPT is a drop-in replacement for the short pigtail hoses supplied with most RV automatic changeover regulators and two-cylinder manifold kits. If your current hose is 12 inches with a QCC hand-wheel on one end and a flare nut on the other, this hose fits.
Hand-tighten the QCC fitting onto the cylinder valve -- QCC fittings use left-hand thread, so they tighten counterclockwise. The 1/4-inch inverted flare end uses standard right-hand thread; snug it with a wrench but do not over-torque. Always leak-test all connections with soapy water or a listed leak-detection solution before lighting any appliances.
Propane hoses exposed to UV, ozone, and temperature swings degrade over time. Inspect the hose body for cracks, brittleness, abrasion, or swelling before each camping season and replace if any damage is found. Do not use a hose that has been kinked sharply or crushed.
In a single-cylinder setup, one E12INPT connects the cylinder to the regulator. In a dual-cylinder system with an automatic changeover regulator, you need two pigtails -- one per cylinder. Most changeover regulator kits include two pigtails; this hose is the correct replacement for those included hoses.
Keep the QCC hand-wheel clean and free of debris. If the hand-wheel feels stiff, check the cylinder O-ring -- a worn or missing O-ring causes the QCC fitting to seat improperly. The E12INPT does not include a replacement O-ring; inspect the existing O-ring on the cylinder valve when swapping hoses.
