Also known as 99-4383-377.
The Steele Rubber Products 90-3462-283 is a Large Hollow Half-Round Peel-N-Stick seal with tabs — an 11/16" H x 3/4" W high-quality EPDM sponge rubber extrusion purpose-built for RV access doors and ramp gates. The hollow half-round profile compresses under closure force and springs back cleanly, while the tabs on each side of the base provide an extended footprint that increases the adhesive contact area for a more secure, long-lasting bond on flat mounting surfaces — a key advantage over standard tabless half-round seals in high-cycle door and gate applications.
Unlike standard open-cell foam weatherstrips, this seal features a closed-cell sponge rubber core surrounded by a solid skin surface for significantly better weather resistance, more predictable compression under load, and greater durability through repeated use. The hollow interior allows the dome to compress fully under door or ramp gate closure and return to shape cleanly when opened, maintaining a reliable seal against wind, moisture, dust, and debris.
This profile is commonly found on 1960s Airstream models and Gullwing doors, making it a trusted restoration replacement for vintage Airstream owners. It is also widely used on Winnebago Micro Minnie, Voyage, Minnie, and Spyder Trailer storage compartment doors as well as Jayco Jay Flight and White Hawk outdoor kitchen compartment doors and Jayco Seismic Trailer and Winnebago Spyder Trailer rear drop gates. Installation is simple with the 3M Peel-N-Stick skirted adhesive: peel, press, and the tabs lock the seal into place.
Extended tabs on each side of the base increase adhesive contact area for a more secure bond — key advantage over tabless half-rounds on high-cycle access doors and ramp gates
Closed-cell sponge core surrounded by solid skin surface — superior to standard open-cell foam in weather resistance, compression consistency, and long-term durability
Trusted replacement for 1960s Airstream models and Gullwing doors — purpose-built profile for vintage RV restoration and period-correct sealing
Exclusive skirting surrounds adhesive edges — clean finished look, protects adhesive from moisture and debris, and ensures long-lasting surface grip
Apply between 60°F and 104°F (15°C–40°C) for best adhesive bond strength. The temperature difference between the seal and the bonding surface should be as small as possible — avoid applying in direct sunlight on a hot surface or in cold ambient conditions. Surface Preparation: Completely remove all old seal material, adhesive residue, dirt, wax, and moisture before applying. Wipe the bonding surface with isopropyl alcohol and allow to fully dry. Thorough surface prep is always recommended and is the most important factor in long-term adhesion performance.

What You Need: No tools required for adhesive application. Recommended supplies: isopropyl alcohol, clean cloth, tape measure, scissors or utility knife. Basic Installation Steps: 1. Check Temperature: Confirm ambient and surface temp is between 60°F and 104°F (15°C–40°C) and minimize temperature difference between seal and bonding surface 2. Remove Old Seal: Completely remove all old weatherstrip material and adhesive residue from the mounting surface 3. Clean & Dry: Wipe the bonding surface with isopropyl alcohol and allow to fully dry before applying 4. Measure & Cut: Measure the door, gate, or hatch perimeter and cut the seal to length with scissors or a utility knife 5. Peel & Press: Starting at one corner, remove the skirted adhesive backing a few inches at a time and press the tabs firmly onto the mounting surface, working around the full perimeter 6. Test the Closure: Close the access door, ramp gate, or drop gate to confirm the hollow half-round dome compresses evenly and the tabs lie flat against the surface for a consistent, gap-free seal
