9/16" H x 1-3/16" W EPDM sponge and dense rubber double side bulb push-on weatherstrip with segmented steel core. No adhesive required. Fits flanges 3/16"–1/4". Ideal for Class A basement compartments and Fleetwood Discovery models. Black, 15 ft pre-cut strip. Also known as 70-3885-277.
The Steele Rubber Products 90-3744-277 is a Double Side Bulb Push-On Weatherstrip — an EPDM sponge and dense rubber seal with a segmented steel core designed for RV access doors and storage compartment door applications. Unlike adhesive-backed weatherstrips, this seal requires no glue or tape: simply press the channel over the door flange and the segmented steel core grips the flange firmly for a tight, lasting fit.
The double side bulb profile is the key distinction of this seal. Rather than a single bulb on one side, this design features a bulb on both sides of the central channel. When the compartment door closes, both bulbs compress simultaneously against the door frame, delivering a more complete perimeter seal with increased surface contact compared to a single-bulb profile. This makes it particularly well suited for Class A motorhome basement compartment doors where a thorough seal against dust, moisture, and wind is important for protecting stored gear and living space systems.
This profile is commonly found on Fleetwood Discovery models and is well suited for Class A basement compartment door applications broadly. It fits flanges from 3/16" to 1/4" thick — the heavier gauge flanges typical of large motorhome compartment frames. The EPDM rubber construction will not fade, shrink, or crack, and the steel core is fully encased in rubber to resist rust. The 15-foot pre-cut strip provides full coverage for a standard compartment door perimeter or multiple shorter runs.
Bulbs on both sides of the channel compress simultaneously when the door closes — increased surface contact for a more complete perimeter seal
Encased in rubber to prevent rust — grips the flange firmly and flexes around curves for reliable hold without adhesive
Push-on installation — simply press onto the door flange for a tight, positive compression fit with no glue, tape, or surface prep needed
Combined sponge and dense rubber construction — positive compression fit, superior weather resistance, will not fade, shrink, or crack
This seal is designed to fit flanges 3/16" to 1/4" thick. Measure your existing door flange before ordering to confirm compatibility. Flanges outside this range — thinner than 3/16" or thicker than 1/4" — may not grip securely or may not seat properly on the flange. Installation Tip: Press the channel firmly over the flange by hand, working from one corner along the full door perimeter. The segmented steel core will flex to follow curves and rounded corners. Trim to length with scissors or a sharp utility knife for a clean fit.
Primary Part Number: 90-3744-277 Also Known As: 70-3885-277 Known RV Fitment (not exhaustive): • Fleetwood Discovery — storage and compartment doors • Class A motorhomes — basement storage compartment doors Available Lengths (Same Profile): • 15 ft — Part 90-3744-277 (This Item) • Also available by the foot for custom lengths Note: Compatibility is not guaranteed. Always verify your flange thickness (3/16"–1/4") and confirm fit against your specific model before purchasing.
What You Need: No adhesive required. Recommended supplies: tape measure, scissors or utility knife. Basic Installation Steps: 1. Verify Flange Thickness: Confirm your door flange measures between 3/16" and 1/4" thick — the seal will not grip properly on flanges outside this range 2. Remove Old Seal: Pull the existing weatherstrip off the flange; remove any residual material from the flange edge 3. Measure & Cut: Measure the door opening perimeter and cut the seal to length with scissors or a utility knife 4. Press Onto Flange: Starting at one corner, press the channel firmly over the flange edge by hand, working along the full door perimeter — the segmented steel core will grip the flange securely 5. Follow Curves: Allow the segmented core to flex around curved corners and contoured sections of the door opening 6. Test the Closure: Close the compartment door to confirm both side bulbs compress evenly and create a consistent, gap-free seal around the full perimeter
