A purpose-built high pressure propane hose from Suburban, engineered to connect an LP tank to a two-stage regulator. At 72 inches (6 feet), it gives you enough working length to route cleanly through a standard RV propane compartment without straining fittings or kinking the hose. Thermal protection and proper end fittings make this a drop-in-ready replacement or upgrade for Suburban-equipped rigs.
Propane hoses on the high pressure side of the system -- between the tank and the two-stage regulator -- handle full tank pressure before it is stepped down. That means the hose must be rated and built for the job. Suburban's DCRLP-PT72HP uses a reinforced 1/4" ID high pressure hose body with properly sized fittings on each end so there is no guesswork about thread compatibility at installation.
One end terminates in a 3/8" female pipe thread (FPT) fitting, and the opposite end is a 3/8" female flare swivel. The swivel connection allows the hose to be tightened without twisting the hose body, reducing stress on the assembly over years of connection and disconnection cycles. Thermal protection along the hose body guards against heat sources common in tight RV propane bays.
3/8" female flare swivel prevents hose twist during tightening, protecting the hose and fittings from fatigue stress.
3/8" FPT inlet mates directly to standard LP tank service valves and regulator inlet ports without adapters.
Factory-applied thermal protection sleeve guards the hose body against ambient heat in enclosed propane compartments.
72" (6 ft) gives enough slack for clean routing in most RV propane bays without pulling tight at connection points.
This hose is designed for use on the high pressure side of the propane system -- specifically the run from the LP tank service valve to the inlet of a two-stage regulator. It is a common service part on Suburban-equipped RVs including units with Suburban furnaces, water heaters, and range appliances sharing a common propane supply. It is not intended for use downstream of the regulator on low pressure appliance lines.
When installing, apply an LP-rated thread sealant or PTFE tape to the FPT end threads (not the flare end -- flare seats seal metal-to-metal). Hand-tighten the flare swivel first, then snug with a wrench. Do not overtighten flare fittings. After installation, perform a leak check with soapy water or a dedicated LP leak detector solution before lighting any appliances.
Thread sealant, adapters, and regulators are not included. No additional tools beyond standard open-end wrenches are required for installation.
