This remote panel gives you two ways to monitor your inverter:
1. Built-in LCD Display The panel's LCD screen displays real-time status information including:
2. FXC Control Smartphone App The Bluetooth connection lets you monitor and configure your inverter from your smartphone or tablet using the free FXC Control app:
iOS: Search "FXC Control" in the Apple App Store Android: Search "FXC Control" in the Google Play Store The app is free and works with all Bluetooth-enabled Freedom X remote panels.
In addition to the LCD display, the panel features LED indicators for quick status checks:
1. Choose Location: Select a mounting location within 25' of your inverter (or use optional longer cable). 2. Cut Opening: Use the included mounting template. Cutout size: 107mm wide × 51mm tall (4.2" × 2"). Requires 50mm+ (2"+) recess depth. 3. Run Cable: Route the 6-conductor RJ12 communication cable from inverter to panel location. 4. Connect: Plug the RJ12 cable into the port on the back of the remote panel and the COM port on your inverter. 5. Mount: Secure the panel in the cutout using the supplied mounting hardware. 6. Pair Bluetooth: Press and hold ESC to enter pairing mode, then connect via the FXC Control app.
If you're upgrading from a Freedom 458 inverter to a Freedom X or XC, the 808-0817-02 remote panel will fit into your existing wall cutout using the optional Wall Mount Adaptor (PN 808-0819). This adaptor bezel covers the larger Freedom 458 opening while securely mounting the Freedom X remote panel.
Xantrex offers two versions of the Freedom X remote panel:
The Bluetooth version (808-0817-02) costs approximately $100 more than the non-Bluetooth version (808-0817-01). Many users find the app-based configuration worth the upgrade, especially when adjusting charger settings for lithium batteries.
If you've upgraded to lithium batteries, the Bluetooth remote panel makes it much easier to adjust your Freedom XC or XC PRO's charging parameters. Instead of pressing buttons multiple times to navigate menus on the panel, you can quickly change charge voltage, absorption time, and other settings directly from the app.
• Freedom 458 – Different system; uses Basic Remote 84-2056-01 • Freedom SW – Uses Xanbus network; requires 809-0921 System Control Panel • Freedom EX – Uses different remote panel • PROwatt SW – Uses 808-9001 remote panel • TRUECharge2/TRUECharge3 – Use dedicated charger remotes • Other Xantrex inverter lines
Note: Extension cables may be needed if mounting location is more than 25' from the inverter.
