1. Determine a suitable location for the battery tray making sure
there is enough room to work.
2. Using the battery tray as a template, mark the location of the screw holes. Drill pilot holes for the screws. Do not drill through the bottom of the boat.
3. Assemble stainless steel hold down rods by inserting nylock nut into nut recess and threading the shorter threaded end of the rod into the nut until the rod’s end is even (or flush) with the bottom side of the nut. A pair of pliers may be required.
4. Repeat for both rods.
5. With both rods positioned with the nuts in the recesses, position the tray and rod assemblies in alignment over the 4 pilot holes.
6. Fasten down the tray using (4) #10 - #14 stainless steel pan head sheet metal screws (not supplied).
7. Position the battery into the tray.
8. Align the top bracket into position over the battery and insert the stainless steel mounting rods through the mounting holes in the top bracket. Install injection-molded retaining nuts and tighten them to secure the battery and top bracket assembly.
9. Connect the battery cables, following the battery manufacturer’s requirements for correct installation. The positive terminal should be insulated to prevent accidental shorting.
10. Re-check all attachments and verify that the battery is secure and that all wires and fasteners are installed correctly
