The Camco 40433 is one of the most popular RV roof vent covers on the market — and for good reason. The fundamental problem it solves is a simple one: if you want ventilation while it's raining or windy, your only option without a vent cover is to close the roof vent and lose the airflow. The 40433 mounts over the existing 14" x 14" vent opening and creates a protected air channel that lets fresh air in while deflecting rain and directing wind away from the vent opening.
The aerodynamic hood design keeps rain out even in moderate wind-driven rain conditions. The built-in insect screen keeps bugs out when the vent is open. Louvers are removable for cleaning, and the entire body is molded from UV-stabilized resin that resists yellowing and cracking over years of sun exposure. Mounting hardware is included and installation is straightforward — typically no roof sealant is required beyond what's already present around the vent lid, though adding a bead of compatible lap sealant around the base screws is recommended.

Mounts over the existing 14" x 14" roof vent lid: 1. Position the vent cover over the existing open roof vent 2. Secure using the included mounting hardware — screws attach through the base flanges into the vent frame 3. Apply a compatible lap sealant (such as Dicor or similar) around the base screw heads for a weatherproof seal — not included but recommended Note: The vent cover is installed permanently and rides on the roof during travel. Verify there are no low-clearance obstacles (garage doors, tree branches, overhead structures) before driving with the cover installed.

The outer profile extends to 19-5/16" x 19" and stands 8-11/16" tall above the roofline.
