The TastePURE 40043 is an excellent general-purpose campground filter, but it is not rated for microbiological cyst removal (Giardia, Cryptosporidium) or virus reduction. If you are drawing from a questionable rural well or non-potable source, use an appropriate treatment system in addition to this filter.
