CarCover 5-Ply Top Protection Lifetime Warranty Gold Shield 5L Class C RV Cover -- 29 ft to 32 ft (5RV-CC-2932)

Full-season, all-weather protection purpose-built for Class C motorhomes in the 29-to-32-foot range. The Gold Shield 5L uses a five-layer top construction with a micro-porous film core that blocks rain, UV, hail, bird droppings, and tree sap while still allowing moisture vapor to escape -- so you come back to a dry interior, not a mold problem.

Built for Class C Rigs, Not Generic Motorhomes

Most generic RV covers are cut for Class A profiles. The Gold Shield 5L is shaped specifically for the cab-over nose and boxy roofline of Class C motorhomes. The cover measures 32.5 ft long x 8.83 ft wide x 9.08 ft tall -- sized to drape fully over the cab-over overhang and reach down past the wheel wells without riding up in the wind.

At 25 lbs, this is a substantial cover. Two people can install it comfortably in under 15 minutes using the weighted buckle straps -- no ladders required for the tie-down steps. The slip-seam contour design hugs the body of the rig to cut wind resistance and stop billowing on gusty nights.

5-Layer Top Panel

Four polypropylene PLUS layers plus one micro-porous film layer on top. Blocks over 98% of dirt and dust while staying breathable.

3-Layer Side Panels

Two polypropylene PLUS layers and one micro-porous film layer on the sides. Prevents rot and mildew while allowing airflow from all directions.

Zippered Entry Panels

Heavy-duty zippered panels let you access your motorhome door without removing the entire cover -- essential for plugged-in storage situations.

Secure Fit System

Elastic hems at the front and rear corners plus an adjustable buckle strap system eliminate slack and prevent the cover from shifting during high winds.

Fabric Construction and Weather Performance

The "5L" in Gold Shield 5L refers to the five-layer laminate used on the top surface -- the most weather-exposed part of any RV stored outdoors. The construction stacks polypropylene PLUS (a UV-stabilized, spunbond nonwoven) around a central micro-porous film. That film is the key: water droplets are too large to pass through, but water vapor molecules are small enough to escape. The result is a cover that sheds rain and snow on the outside while letting interior condensation vent outward.

The three-layer side construction uses the same micro-porous film sandwiched between two polypropylene PLUS layers. This is lighter than the top but still rated for water resistance, UV blocking, and mildew prevention along the vertical surfaces where wind-driven rain is the main threat.

Blocks over 98% of dirt and dust -- verified for the polypropylene PLUS material used throughout the Gold Shield line. Critical for rigs stored near fields, construction sites, or dirt roads.

Fit and Installation Details

This cover is designed for Class C motorhomes with a measured body length (not overall with hitch or tow bar) of 29 to 32 feet. The 32.5-foot cover length provides overhang at both ends to protect the cab-over nose and the rear cap fully.

  • Elastic hems front and rear grip the corners and prevent wind intrusion
  • Adjustable buckle straps cinch under the chassis to stop side-to-side movement
  • Slip-seam body contouring reduces wind load and protects paint from abrasion
  • Weighted buckles simplify under-rig installation without a creeper or tools
  • Ladder cap protects the cover fabric from sharp rear ladder edges
  • Gutter protection panels prevent wear where the cover contacts roof gutters
  • Reflective strips on sides improve low-light visibility when stored in a lot or driveway
  • Built-in roof vents allow passive airflow -- reduces heat buildup in warm climates
AC Unit Clearance: The Gold Shield 5L Class C cover is designed to accommodate up to three rooftop air conditioning units without requiring cutouts or modifications. The cover drapes over standard AC shrouds without creating pressure points.

Storage and Repair

When the cover comes off for the season, it folds down and stores in the included storage bag -- compact enough to fit in a basement compartment or under-bed storage. The package also includes a patch kit for field repairs if the fabric is punctured or torn during installation or by a falling branch.

Installation Tips:
  • Clean and dry your RV before installing the cover -- trapped moisture or grit can mar the finish over a long storage period
  • Fold the cover accordion-style lengthwise before climbing on the roof to deploy it -- reduces the risk of it catching wind mid-installation
  • Check and re-tighten buckle straps after the first rain or wind event; fabric and straps can relax slightly after initial tensioning
  • In snow country, clear heavy snow accumulation periodically -- the cover is rated for snow loads but pooling ice can stress seams at the edges
Also Available: CarCover Gold Shield 5L covers are offered in multiple length bands for Class A, Class B, and Class C motorhomes. If your Class C body measures under 29 feet or over 32 feet, check the adjacent size bands to confirm a proper fit before ordering.

Important Information
  • This cover is sized for Class C motorhome body lengths of 29 to 32 feet. Measure your RV body (excluding tow bars, hitch receivers, and bike racks) before ordering -- using the wrong size can cause poor fit, wind damage, or paint abrasion.
  • Do not install over a wet or dirty RV surface. Trapped debris under the cover can scratch gel coat and paint during wind movement.
  • This cover is water-resistant, not fully waterproof under standing water or pooling conditions. In heavy snow climates, clear accumulated snow periodically to prevent edge seam stress.
  • The cover is not rated for use while driving or towing. Install only on a stationary, parked RV.
  • Tow bars, bike racks, and satellite dishes mounted on the exterior can puncture or stress the fabric. The included patch kit addresses minor punctures; large protrusions may require protective padding before covering.
  • Built-in vents reduce but do not eliminate moisture buildup in all climates. Ensure the RV interior is dry and fully closed before covering for extended storage periods.
Protecting your RV with a quality cover is essential for maintaining its value and longevity. RVs are significant investments that are often exposed to harsh weather conditions, making them susceptible to damage from corrosion, mold, and UV rays. Unlike standard vehicles, RVs serve as mobile homes for many, and a cover can provide added insulation and privacy, enhancing your comfort while protecting against the elements. By investing in an RV cover, you reduce wear and tear, ensuring that your RV remains in excellent condition for years to come.

How To Measure Your RV:

Length: Measure the longest two points from the front to the rear of RV, including bumpers, spare tire, and ladder.

Height: Measure the highest point of the RV sidewalls from the top of the roof down to the outside frame, excluding ground clearance, roof-mounted accessories, vents, and A/C units.

How to Install Your RV Cover:

1. Identify the front of the cover by locating the "Front" tag on the interior.
2.
Lay the cover lengthwise on the ground, inside out, with the exterior facing up.
3.
Fold the sides toward the center and roll the cover from the rear, leaving the front end loose.
4.
Position the rolled cover at the rear of the RV near the ladder.
5.
Loosen the roll slightly, then climb the ladder while holding the front end.
6.
Pull the cover onto the roof gradually until you have a strip covering the entire roof.
7.
Starting at the front, unfold the cover side to side, letting it drape down the sides as you move to the rear.
8.
Ensure the corner opposite the ladder is positioned under the cover’s corner.
9.
Climb down while bringing the cover down with you, then adjust the cover as needed.

Removal:

1. Undo all straps and zippers on the cover.
2.
Lift the front of the cover to the top of the RV.
3.
Pull the cover down from the rear.

For Cleaning:

Proper care of your RV cover is essential for maintaining its performance and water resistance. Contaminants like dirt and grease can damage the cover, so regular washing is recommended for long-lasting protection.

You can wash the cover by hand or in a washing machine. For hand washing, install the cover on your RV, rinse it with a hose, then use a cloth and multi-purpose cleaner to scrub. Rinse again and either towel dry or let it air dry.

For machine washing, use the largest machine available, set it to gentle mode, and wash with mild powder detergent in cold water—avoid bleach and fabric softeners. Rinse the cover twice to remove all detergent, and always air dry.
