CarCover5-Ply Top / 3-Ply SidesLifetime WarrantyGold Shield 5L Travel Trailer Cover -- Fits 30 to 33 Feet (SKU 5RV-TT-3033)

Keep your travel trailer protected year-round with the CarCover Gold Shield 5L. Engineered with a five-layer top panel and three-layer sides, this cover delivers all-season defense against UV, rain, snow, hail, tree sap, and road dust -- without trapping the moisture that leads to mold, rot, and finish damage. Zippered entry panels mean you never have to strip the whole cover just to grab gear or check the interior.

Purpose-Built Protection for Long-Term Storage and Seasonal Use

The Gold Shield 5L is designed for travel trailer owners who store their rig outside for weeks or months at a time. The cover's micro-porous breathable film is the key differentiator: it lets water vapor escape from inside the cover while blocking liquid water from entering. That vapor-permeable barrier is what separates a quality cover from a tarp -- tarps trap humidity and create the exact conditions that breed mildew and corrode seals.

The five-layer top handles the heaviest exposure: direct sun, pooling rain, snow loads, and hail. Three-layer sides address crosswind-driven rain and debris. Together, the layered construction adds up to noticeably heavier, more durable material than single- or dual-layer budget covers.

5-Ply Top Panel

UV-resistant polypropylene outer layers sandwich a micro-porous film core. Blocks 98-plus percent of dirt and dust while shedding rain and snow.

Breathable Micro-Porous Film

Allows trapped vapor to escape, preventing mildew, rot, and moisture buildup under the cover during long-term outdoor storage.

Zippered Access Panels

Reach entry doors and exterior storage compartments without removing the cover. A practical feature for trailers left in storage for extended periods.

Wind-Secure Fit System

Adjustable buckles remove slack and stop wind billowing. Elasticized front and rear hems hold corners in place and reduce cover migration.

Fit and Sizing

This cover is sized for travel trailers with an overall length between 30 and 33 feet. The cover's stated dimensions are 33.5 feet long x 8.75 feet wide x 9.17 feet tall. Measure your trailer from the front cap to the rear bumper -- not just the box -- to confirm fit before ordering. The extended top layer drapes down the sides to add extra coverage at the roof-to-sidewall transition.

Confirm Your Trailer Length: Measure bumper-to-bumper including any rear ladder, spare tire carrier, or front hitch extension. If your trailer is at the high end of the range (close to 33 ft) and has significant protrusions, verify the 33.5 ft cover length is sufficient before installing.

AC Unit Compatibility

The Gold Shield 5L is designed to accommodate up to three rooftop air conditioning units. Cutouts or raised panels in the top layer allow the cover to sit over standard RV AC shrouds without creating pressure points that could crack or distort the shroud. This is especially relevant for longer trailers that may run dual or triple AC configurations.

Protective Features Rundown

  • Ladder cap prevents fabric tears from contact with sharp ladder rungs
  • Gutter covers guard against tearing at rain gutter edges
  • Reflective panels improve visibility in low-light conditions
  • Sun-reflective fabric reduces interior heat buildup during storage
  • Reinforced double stitching at stress points and seams
  • Weighted buckles for tool-free installation
  • Gray color is sun-reflective and UV-stable

Installation and Storage

No tools required for installation. The weighted buckles and adjustable straps let one or two people fit the cover without a ladder in most cases. When not in use, the cover folds down into the included storage bag. A patch kit is also included for field repairs if the fabric is punctured or torn.

Storage Tip: Before covering, ensure the trailer's roof and sides are clean and dry. Debris trapped under the cover can scratch the finish over time. Inspect the cover periodically during winter storage to check strap tension and clear standing water or snow accumulation from low spots.
Warranty: The Gold Shield 5L carries a Lifetime Manufacturer Warranty from CarCover against defects in materials and workmanship.

Important Information
  • Measure your travel trailer bumper-to-bumper before ordering. This cover is sized for trailers 30 ft to 33 ft. The cover itself measures 33.5 ft long x 8.75 ft wide x 9.17 ft tall.
  • Do not install over a wet or dirty trailer. Trapped debris and moisture can scratch the finish and promote mildew even under a breathable cover.
  • Adjust and re-tension straps after the first 24-48 hours of installation; buckles may loosen slightly as the cover settles into shape.
  • Inspect periodically during heavy snow or ice conditions. Accumulated weight on the cover may stress seams and should be cleared when possible.
  • This cover is designed for stationary storage use. It is not intended for use while towing.
  • Ladder cap and gutter protectors must be properly positioned to avoid fabric tears during installation and wind events.
Protecting your RV with a quality cover is essential for maintaining its value and longevity. RVs are significant investments that are often exposed to harsh weather conditions, making them susceptible to damage from corrosion, mold, and UV rays. Unlike standard vehicles, RVs serve as mobile homes for many, and a cover can provide added insulation and privacy, enhancing your comfort while protecting against the elements. By investing in an RV cover, you reduce wear and tear, ensuring that your RV remains in excellent condition for years to come.

How To Measure Your Travel Trailer:

Length: Measure the longest two points from the front to the rear of the trailer, including bumpers, spare tire, and ladder, but excluding the hitch and tongue of the trailer.

Height: Measure the trailer sidewalls from the very top of the roofline down to the outside frame. Exclude ground clearance, roof-mounted accessories, vents, and A/C units.

How to Install Your Travel Trailer Cover:

1. Identify the front of the cover by locating the "Front" tag on the interior.
2.
Lay the cover lengthwise on the ground, inside out, with the exterior facing up.
3.
Fold the sides toward the center and roll the cover from the rear, leaving the front end loose.
4.
Position the rolled cover at the rear of the RV near the ladder.
5.
Loosen the roll slightly, then climb the ladder while holding the front end.
6.
Pull the cover onto the roof gradually until you have a strip covering the entire roof.
7.
Starting at the front, unfold the cover side to side, letting it drape down the sides as you move to the rear.
8.
Ensure the corner opposite the ladder is positioned under the cover’s corner.
9.
Climb down while bringing the cover down with you, then adjust the cover as needed.

Removal:

1. Undo all straps and zippers on the cover.
2.
Lift the front of the cover to the top of the RV.
3.
Pull the cover down from the rear.

For Cleaning:

Proper care of your RV cover is essential for maintaining its performance and water resistance. Contaminants like dirt and grease can damage the cover, so regular washing is recommended for long-lasting protection.

You can wash the cover by hand or in a washing machine. For hand washing, install the cover on your RV, rinse it with a hose, then use a cloth and multi-purpose cleaner to scrub. Rinse again and either towel dry or let it air dry.

For machine washing, use the largest machine available, set it to gentle mode, and wash with mild powder detergent in cold water—avoid bleach and fabric softeners. Rinse the cover twice to remove all detergent, and always air dry.
