All-season outdoor storage cover engineered with a 5-layer top and 3-layer sides to protect your travel trailer from UV, rain, snow, hail, and road debris. The breathable micro-porous film allows trapped vapor to escape while preventing liquid water intrusion -- no mold, no mildew, no moisture damage during long-term storage.
The Gold Shield 5L is CarCover's premium travel trailer cover, designed for RV owners who leave their rigs parked for weeks or months at a time. The top panel uses five layers -- UV-resistant polypropylene outer fabric, a structural middle layer, and a micro-porous breathable film -- to handle everything from blistering summer sun to heavy winter snowloads. The three-layer sides defend against crosswind rain, blowing debris, and direct sunlight on the side walls.
The extended top layer drapes down the sides farther than standard single-layer covers, giving extra runoff protection along the sidewalls and slide-out areas. Reinforced double-stitched seams at high-stress points resist tearing under sustained wind load.
UV-resistant polypropylene outer layer plus micro-porous breathable film blocks rain and UV while letting moisture vapor escape.
Three-layer sidewall fabric defends against crosswind rain, debris impact, and prolonged sun exposure on both sides of the trailer.
Access your RV door and exterior compartments without removing the entire cover -- critical for seasonal storage check-ins.
Ladder cap protects the fabric where it contacts sharp ladder rungs. Gutter covers prevent rips along roof rain gutters.
Loose covers are the most common cause of fabric failure. The 5L addresses this with elasticized front and rear hems that conform to the trailer's nose and tail corners, plus weighted buckles along the lower perimeter that pull out slack without tools. Adjustable straps cinch the cover down in high-wind conditions and prevent the repetitive flapping that fatigues stitching and material over time.
Fully waterproof non-breathable covers trap condensation beneath the fabric. Over a storage season, that trapped moisture causes mildew on fabric sidewalls, bubbling in decals, and rust around metal fasteners. The Gold Shield 5L's micro-porous film layer is permeable to water vapor but not to liquid water -- the same principle used in quality rain gear. Moisture that forms under the cover migrates outward as vapor rather than pooling against the exterior surface.
The gray UV-reflective outer fabric reduces radiant heat absorption during summer storage. This protects interior upholstery, window seals, and dashboard components from heat-accelerated fading and cracking -- particularly relevant for trailers stored uncovered in direct sun in the Southwest or Southern states.
You can wash the cover by hand or in a washing machine. For hand washing, install the cover on your RV, rinse it with a hose, then use a cloth and multi-purpose cleaner to scrub. Rinse again and either towel dry or let it air dry.
For machine washing, use the largest machine available, set it to gentle mode, and wash with mild powder detergent in cold water—avoid bleach and fabric softeners. Rinse the cover twice to remove all detergent, and always air dry.
