CarCover Gold Shield 5L Fits 33-35 Ft Travel Trailers CarCover Gold Shield 5L Travel Trailer Cover -- 33 to 35 Feet (5RV-TT-3335)

All-season outdoor storage cover engineered with a 5-layer top and 3-layer sides to protect your travel trailer from UV, rain, snow, hail, and road debris. The breathable micro-porous film allows trapped vapor to escape while preventing liquid water intrusion -- no mold, no mildew, no moisture damage during long-term storage.

Heavy-Duty Protection Built for Full-Season Storage

The Gold Shield 5L is CarCover's premium travel trailer cover, designed for RV owners who leave their rigs parked for weeks or months at a time. The top panel uses five layers -- UV-resistant polypropylene outer fabric, a structural middle layer, and a micro-porous breathable film -- to handle everything from blistering summer sun to heavy winter snowloads. The three-layer sides defend against crosswind rain, blowing debris, and direct sunlight on the side walls.

The extended top layer drapes down the sides farther than standard single-layer covers, giving extra runoff protection along the sidewalls and slide-out areas. Reinforced double-stitched seams at high-stress points resist tearing under sustained wind load.

5-Ply Top Panel

UV-resistant polypropylene outer layer plus micro-porous breathable film blocks rain and UV while letting moisture vapor escape.

3-Ply Reinforced Sides

Three-layer sidewall fabric defends against crosswind rain, debris impact, and prolonged sun exposure on both sides of the trailer.

Zippered Entry Panels

Access your RV door and exterior compartments without removing the entire cover -- critical for seasonal storage check-ins.

Ladder Cap and Gutter Guards

Ladder cap protects the fabric where it contacts sharp ladder rungs. Gutter covers prevent rips along roof rain gutters.

Wind Security and Fit System

Loose covers are the most common cause of fabric failure. The 5L addresses this with elasticized front and rear hems that conform to the trailer's nose and tail corners, plus weighted buckles along the lower perimeter that pull out slack without tools. Adjustable straps cinch the cover down in high-wind conditions and prevent the repetitive flapping that fatigues stitching and material over time.

Reflective Safety Panels -- Reflective strips along the sides improve low-light visibility when the covered trailer is parked in a driveway, campsite, or roadside location.

Breathability: Why It Matters for Long-Term Storage

Fully waterproof non-breathable covers trap condensation beneath the fabric. Over a storage season, that trapped moisture causes mildew on fabric sidewalls, bubbling in decals, and rust around metal fasteners. The Gold Shield 5L's micro-porous film layer is permeable to water vapor but not to liquid water -- the same principle used in quality rain gear. Moisture that forms under the cover migrates outward as vapor rather than pooling against the exterior surface.

Supports Up to Three Rooftop AC Units -- The cover's profile accommodates trailers with up to three rooftop air conditioner shrouds without requiring separate AC covers. Confirm your trailer height does not exceed 9 ft 2 in (9.17 ft).

Sun and Heat Reflection

The gray UV-reflective outer fabric reduces radiant heat absorption during summer storage. This protects interior upholstery, window seals, and dashboard components from heat-accelerated fading and cracking -- particularly relevant for trailers stored uncovered in direct sun in the Southwest or Southern states.

Storage and Maintenance Tips
  • Clean and dry your trailer thoroughly before covering to avoid trapping existing moisture or debris against the finish.
  • Store the cover in the included storage bag when not in use to prevent UV degradation of the fabric between seasons.
  • Inspect the elasticized hems and buckle straps each season for wear and re-tension as needed.
  • Use the included patch kit to seal any small tears promptly -- unpatched holes grow rapidly under wind stress.
  • Do not drag the cover over sharp roof edges or bare metal ladder rungs; use the ladder cap accessory each time.

Important Information
  • This cover is sized for travel trailers 33 to 35 feet in length. Measure your trailer's overall length, width, and height -- including any slide-outs in the retracted position -- before ordering. Cover max height is 9.17 ft (110 in).
  • Not intended for use while towing. Install only on a stationary, parked trailer.
  • Do not install over a wet or dirty trailer surface; trapped moisture and abrasive grit can damage the exterior finish during storage.
  • Verify all roof-mounted equipment (AC shrouds, vents, antennas) clears the cover profile before fully securing the buckle straps.
  • The cover is water-resistant with a breathable membrane, not a fully sealed waterproof barrier. Do not use as a tarp or ground cloth.
  • Patch any tears immediately using the included patch kit. Unrepaired damage will spread under wind stress and void warranty coverage.
Protecting your RV with a quality cover is essential for maintaining its value and longevity. RVs are significant investments that are often exposed to harsh weather conditions, making them susceptible to damage from corrosion, mold, and UV rays. Unlike standard vehicles, RVs serve as mobile homes for many, and a cover can provide added insulation and privacy, enhancing your comfort while protecting against the elements. By investing in an RV cover, you reduce wear and tear, ensuring that your RV remains in excellent condition for years to come.

How To Measure Your Travel Trailer:

Length: Measure the longest two points from the front to the rear of the trailer, including bumpers, spare tire, and ladder, but excluding the hitch and tongue of the trailer.

Height: Measure the trailer sidewalls from the very top of the roofline down to the outside frame. Exclude ground clearance, roof-mounted accessories, vents, and A/C units.

How to Install Your Travel Trailer Cover:

1. Identify the front of the cover by locating the "Front" tag on the interior.
2.
Lay the cover lengthwise on the ground, inside out, with the exterior facing up.
3.
Fold the sides toward the center and roll the cover from the rear, leaving the front end loose.
4.
Position the rolled cover at the rear of the RV near the ladder.
5.
Loosen the roll slightly, then climb the ladder while holding the front end.
6.
Pull the cover onto the roof gradually until you have a strip covering the entire roof.
7.
Starting at the front, unfold the cover side to side, letting it drape down the sides as you move to the rear.
8.
Ensure the corner opposite the ladder is positioned under the cover’s corner.
9.
Climb down while bringing the cover down with you, then adjust the cover as needed.

Removal:

1. Undo all straps and zippers on the cover.
2.
Lift the front of the cover to the top of the RV.
3.
Pull the cover down from the rear.

For Cleaning:

Proper care of your RV cover is essential for maintaining its performance and water resistance. Contaminants like dirt and grease can damage the cover, so regular washing is recommended for long-lasting protection.

You can wash the cover by hand or in a washing machine. For hand washing, install the cover on your RV, rinse it with a hose, then use a cloth and multi-purpose cleaner to scrub. Rinse again and either towel dry or let it air dry.

For machine washing, use the largest machine available, set it to gentle mode, and wash with mild powder detergent in cold water—avoid bleach and fabric softeners. Rinse the cover twice to remove all detergent, and always air dry.
