This hitch is designed for a standard 2 x 2-inch trailer hitch receiver. The receiver on your tow vehicle must be rated at or above the tongue weight and gross trailer weight for your specific load -- confirm your vehicle's receiver class and rating before ordering. The shank inserts fully into the receiver and is secured with the included hardware; no modifications to the receiver are required.
The sway-control bracket mounts to the trailer frame between 27 and 32 inches back from the center of the coupler. This is the critical fitment measurement -- measure your trailer's A-frame before ordering to confirm the bracket will land within that range. The maximum trailer frame height is 6 inches, which fits the vast majority of conventional travel trailer and toy hauler A-frames.
The included standard shank offers up to 7 inches of rise or up to 3 inches of drop from the top of the hitch receiver opening. This accommodates tow vehicles and trailers where the coupler sits higher or lower than the receiver.
