The Equal-i-zer 90-02-4600 is a solid steel adjustable hitch shank designed to pair with Equal-i-zer 4-point sway control weight distribution hitches. Whether you are replacing a worn shank, upgrading to a different drop configuration, or building out a head-only hitch setup, this shank fits standard 2" receiver tubes and handles tow ratings from 6,000 to 14,000 lbs. GTW.
Getting the right drop or rise on your hitch shank is one of the most important steps to achieving a level tow. A trailer that sits nose-high or nose-low throws off weight distribution, reduces sway control effectiveness, and accelerates coupler and frame wear. The 90-02-4600 gives you a 4" drop on one end and an 8" rise on the other, so you can flip the shank to match your tow vehicle and trailer combination -- no guesswork, no shimming.
The adjustment measurement for Equal-i-zer shanks is taken from the inside top of the receiver tube to the base of the hitch ball mount. Mounting holes are incrementally spaced at every 1-1/4" in the center of the shank, giving you multiple positioning options for the hitch head. This shank is compatible with Equal-i-zer sway control hitch heads rated 6K to 14K and can also be used with many other brands of adjustable hitch heads that accept a standard 2" shank profile.
4" drop on one side, 8" rise on the other. Flip the shank to suit your rig without buying a second shank.
Mounting holes spaced every 1-1/4" along the center for precise hitch head positioning and level tow adjustment.
Machined from solid steel bar stock and corrosion-dipped for long-term durability in all-weather towing conditions.
Manufactured domestically to Equal-i-zer's quality standards. Designed specifically for the Equal-i-zer 4-point sway control system.
This shank fits any standard 2" receiver tube and is the correct replacement or upgrade shank for Equal-i-zer sway control hitch models rated from 6,000 to 14,000 lbs. GTW. It is sold without a hitch head -- intended for use when a shank-only replacement is needed or when purchasing a head-only Equal-i-zer hitch unit.
The shank is dipped for corrosion resistance after fabrication. This coating helps protect the solid steel core against road salt, moisture, and the grime that accumulates on the underside of a tow vehicle. For maximum service life, periodically inspect the shank for coating wear or surface rust, especially if you tow in coastal or snow-belt environments.
This listing is for the shank only (part 90-02-4600). The Equal-i-zer hitch head, spring arms, ball, and receiver pin are not included. If you need a complete hitch system, see the full Equal-i-zer 4-point sway control hitch kits listed separately on rvupgradestore.com.
