The EQ Systems 2735 is a set of two OEM replacement cube relays for select EQ Systems hydraulic pump assemblies. On these pump models, two relays work in tandem to control the direction of the hydraulic motor — one relay handles jack extension and the other handles retraction. When either relay fails, the affected direction will stop working: the jacks may extend but not retract, retract but not extend, or fail to operate at all if both relays have failed.
Because the relays are sold as a matched pair and both are subject to the same operating conditions, replacing both at the same time is standard practice — even if only one appears to have failed. This prevents a second service call when the other relay follows shortly after.
Each relay receives a low-voltage signal from the control circuit to switch power to the pump motor. When you press the extend or retract switch, a small exciter voltage is sent to the corresponding relay, which should produce an audible "click" as it closes and sends power to the motor. To test a relay: With the system powered, press the jack switch and listen for a click at the relay. If you hear no click, apply 12V directly to the relay's exciter terminal to confirm whether the relay itself is defective or whether the fault is upstream in the switch or harness. A relay that doesn't click with voltage applied is defective and should be replaced.
