Complete 48-volt battery watering system with 128-flex manifolds for eight 6V or four 12V batteries.
The Flow-Rite BG-U48V-BJ is a universal Pro-Fill deep-cycle battery watering system specifically designed for golf cart applications. This versatile kit works with either eight 6-volt or four 12-volt batteries in 48-volt configurations, using 128-flex manifolds that adapt to various battery brands and cell spacings. The system features non-winged unshrouded valves that provide the fastest and most secure connection to battery cells without requiring tools, making installation and maintenance exceptionally efficient.
Each valve features built-in de-gas chambers that allow cells to expel naturally occurring hydrogen and oxygen gases, reducing ignition risk while still incorporating flame arrestors to prevent external sparks from entering cells. The automatic shut-off functionality ensures every cell reaches optimal water level then stops, eliminating guesswork and extending battery life by maintaining consistent water levels that prevent sulfation and plate damage. With a single quick coupler and 10 feet of tubing, this system provides flexible routing options for 48V battery banks. Once installed, simply connect your choice of Flow-Rite water supply to fill all batteries in minutes.
128-flex manifolds work with eight 6V or four 12V batteries—adapts to multiple battery brands
Unshrouded design provides fastest, most secure connection—no tools required for installation
Rotating connections route around terminals for easier installation in tight spaces
Allows hydrogen/oxygen expulsion while maintaining flame arrestor protection
BG-U48V-BJ Kit Includes: • 24 Pro-Fill Automatic Shut-Off Valves • 8 Flex 128 Manifolds w/ 360° Swivel Tees • 10 Feet Clampless Polypropylene Tubing (Uncut) • 1 Quick Connect Water Fill Coupler w/ Dust Cover • 36 Red End Caps (Outlet Plugs) • Complete Installation Instructions • Warranty Documentation NOT Included (Purchase Separately): • Water Supply (Hand Pump, Regulated Hose, etc.) • Distilled or Deionized Water Note: A Flow-Rite approved water supply is required for operation.
System Installation Steps: 1. Remove Vent Caps: Take off all existing battery vent caps 2. Install Non-Winged Valves: Push valves into cells to secure (no tools needed) 3. Attach Flex Manifolds: Connect 128-flex manifolds to valves, rotate swivel tees as needed 4. Route Tubing: Cut 10 ft tubing and route between batteries 5. Install Coupler: Attach quick connect coupler at convenient access point 6. Cap Unused Outlets: Install red end caps on any unused manifold connections 7. Test System: Connect water supply, fill batteries, check all connections for leaks For new batteries: Wait at least 4 charge cycles before adding water through the Pro-Fill system.
Fastest Installation Without Tools: The non-winged unshrouded valve design provides the most direct connection to battery cells. Simply push the valve into the cell opening until it seats securely—no quarter-turn required, no wings to align. Benefits: • Faster installation than winged valves • No tool requirements whatsoever • Secure connection with simple push-in action • Easier removal when maintenance is needed This design is preferred for installations where speed and simplicity are priorities, especially in large battery banks like 72V systems.
Based on typical 48V golf cart usage. Pro-Fill system provides 75-80% time savings while eliminating safety hazards.
Water Supply (Sold Separately): This kit does NOT include a water supply. You must purchase a Flow-Rite water supply such as: Hand Pump (portable, 24"), Regulated Hose Supply (connects to garden hose), Gravity Tank (overhead mounting), or Portable Watering Cart (fleet use). CRITICAL Water Quality Requirements: ALWAYS use distilled or deionized water. Minerals in tap water coat battery plates, fill microscopic pores, and drastically reduce contact area between plates and electrolyte. This causes permanent capacity loss and can shorten battery life by 40-50%. Approved Water: Distilled water, deionized water, RO water (if TDS under 10 ppm) DO NOT Use: Tap water, well water, bottled drinking water, softened water New Battery Break-In: For brand new batteries, complete at least 4 full charge/discharge cycles before adding any water. Initial electrolyte levels must stabilize during break-in period.
