Despite the greener chemistry, cooling output is identical -- 13,500 BTU -- so you are not sacrificing performance for sustainability.
The integrated heat pump uses a reverse-cycle defrost system to keep producing heat even when outside temperatures drop to 25 deg F, significantly cutting the hours your propane furnace needs to run. GE estimates the heat pump can replace output equivalent to a propane furnace rated between 20,000 and 40,000 BTU at 75% efficiency, depending on conditions.
