GE Appliances 13,500 BTU Low Profile -- 11"

GE Profile PLC13XAHB Low Profile RV Rooftop Air Conditioner -- Black

A high-performance 13,500 BTU rooftop AC engineered specifically for RVs where overhead clearance matters. At just 11 inches tall, the PLC13XAHB slips under low-clearance obstacles that stop standard-height units cold -- without giving up cooling power or durability.

More Cooling. Less Clearance. Less Noise.

The GE Profile PLC13XAHB is built for RV owners who want serious air conditioning without sacrificing the extra inches that can make the difference between fitting under a carport, awning structure, or low-bridge -- and not. At 11 inches of installed rooftop height, this unit is among the lowest-profile ducted-compatible 13,500 BTU rooftop ACs available for the standard 14 x 14-inch RV roof opening.

Inside, a high-performance motor paired with sound-dampening rubber grommets keeps vibration and mechanical noise well below what older ARC-series units produced. The result is quieter sleeping, quieter conversation, and a noticeably calmer cabin at highway speeds.

Low Profile Design

Only 11 inches tall above the roofline -- fits sites and covers that block standard-height RV ACs.

13,500 BTU Cooling

Full-power output for RVs up to approximately 40 feet. Handles desert heat without throttling down.

Ultra-Quiet Operation

Rubber-grommet-mounted motor reduces vibration transfer to the ceiling assembly and coach structure.

UV-Resistant Shroud

Polymer shroud is formulated to resist UV degradation and hold its gloss through seasons of sun exposure.

Built to Last on the Road

RV rooftop ACs live a hard life -- constant vibration, UV bombardment, road debris, and rain that drives sideways at 65 mph. GE engineered the PLC13XAHB accordingly:

  • Corrosion-resistant coatings on coils and metal components resist the accelerated oxidation common in humid, coastal, and high-humidity campground environments.
  • Reinforced screw holes in the rooftop unit prevent the stress cracking and pull-through that can develop in standard-duty ACs after years of road vibration.
  • UV-resistant black polymer shroud maintains appearance and structural integrity without fading, chalking, or becoming brittle.
  • High-performance motor is matched to the refrigerant circuit for efficient cooling even when ambient temperatures are high.

Replaces GE ARC-Series Units

The PLC13XAHB is the direct replacement platform for earlier GE ARC-series rooftop RV air conditioners. If you are upgrading an existing GE ARC unit, the PLC13XAHB uses the same standard 14 x 14-inch roof cutout and mounting bolt pattern, simplifying the swap. Always verify your existing ceiling assembly compatibility before ordering -- see the ceiling assembly note below.

Ceiling Assembly: Required, Sold Separately

The PLC13XAHB rooftop condenser unit does NOT include a ceiling assembly (air distribution box/return air assembly). You must purchase a compatible GE Profile ceiling assembly separately to complete the installation. The ceiling assembly determines whether you get non-ducted (single-zone) or ducted air distribution. Verify ceiling assembly compatibility with your coach layout before purchasing.

Electrical Requirements -- 120V AC Shore Power or Generator

This unit requires a 120V AC, 15-amp dedicated circuit (standard RV 30-amp or 50-amp service). It is NOT a 12V DC unit and will not operate on battery power alone. A minimum 2,800-watt generator is recommended for reliable start-up under load. Soft-start accessories (sold separately) can reduce startup amp draw if you are operating near generator capacity or sharing a 30-amp service with other loads.

Recommended Accessories

  • GE Profile Compatible Ceiling Assembly -- required for installation, sold separately.
  • Soft-Start Module -- reduces compressor startup surge current, useful on smaller generators or shared 30-amp service.
  • Roof Vent Gasket / Butyl Tape Seal -- always replace the roof gasket when installing any rooftop AC to prevent water intrusion.
  • Non-Conductive AC Cover -- protect the shroud during off-season storage or high-wind sites.

Installation and Maintenance Tips

  • Replace the roof gasket/seal every time the rooftop unit is removed, even temporarily. Reusing an old gasket is a leading cause of RV roof leaks.
  • Clean the condenser coil fins with low-pressure air or a coil cleaning spray at least once per season to maintain cooling efficiency.
  • Inspect and clear the condensate drain path seasonally to prevent pooling inside the ceiling assembly.
  • Torque mounting bolts to the manufacturer specification -- overtightening stresses the reinforced screw holes; undertightening allows vibration loosening.
  • If replacing an ARC-series unit, inspect the ceiling assembly for wear and damaged duct connections before reuse.

Mounting HardwareIncluded (bolts for standard 14 x 14 opening)

Important Information -- Read Before Ordering

  • Ceiling assembly is NOT included. You must purchase a compatible GE Profile ceiling assembly separately. The unit cannot distribute conditioned air without it.
  • 120V AC power required. This is not a 12V or battery-operable unit. Shore power or a generator capable of at least ~2,800 watts is required for compressor startup.
  • Professional installation recommended. Rooftop AC installation involves working on the roof, making sealed penetrations, and connecting to the RV's 120V electrical system. Improper installation can cause roof leaks, electrical hazards, or voided warranty.
  • Always replace the roof gasket when installing this unit. Reusing an old or compressed gasket is a leading cause of water intrusion and ceiling damage.
  • Verify ceiling assembly compatibility with your specific coach layout and existing ductwork before purchasing either component.
  • The low-profile 11-inch height reduces clearance requirements but does NOT change the standard 14 x 14-inch roof opening requirement.
