The Power Gear In-Wall slide system (commonly called Schwintek after its original manufacturer) uses two small electric motors mounted inside the slide room walls, driving a rack-and-pinion mechanism along the top and bottom rails. Unlike through-frame or underbelly hydraulic systems, In-Wall slides are lighter and require no hydraulic fluid -- but the controller is critical to keeping both motors synchronized.
When the controller fails or loses its programmed limits, one motor can outpace the other, causing the slide room to rack and bind. Replacing the controller with the correct unit -- and running the Auto Program routine -- resets synchronization and protects the slide mechanism.
After installing the 700156, run the Auto Program calibration cycle before normal use. This sets the in and out travel limits specific to your slide room dimensions and prevents mechanical over-travel. The procedure is initiated from the slide switch and takes only one full extend/retract cycle to complete.

This controller requires that the park brake be engaged before the slide-out circuit is activated. This is a safety interlock built into the OneControl logic. Attempting to operate the slide with the park brake released will prevent the slide from moving. Verify your toad or tow vehicle brake signal wiring is intact before diagnosing a slide fault.
The 700156 is part of Lippert's OneControl product family, which means it is compatible with OneControl touchscreen panels and the OneControl smartphone app (where the rest of the OneControl ecosystem is installed in the coach). In a non-OneControl coach, it functions as a standalone slide controller driven by a standard momentary switch -- no OneControl hub is required for basic slide operation.
Before replacing the controller, inspect the motor connectors and the rack rails for corrosion or debris. A controller showing fault codes may be responding to a bad motor connection rather than an internal failure.
