The MB Sturgis 108072-MBS is a single-stage high-pressure regulator that takes that raw cylinder pressure and steps it down to a steady, regulated 30 PSI output, giving you a consistent, predictable supply pressure to work with further down the system.
With a 1/4" female NPT inlet and a matching 1/4" female NPT outlet, the 108072-MBS threads directly into standard pipe-threaded fittings on both ends — no flare adapters needed if your connections are already NPT. It's commonly used as the first-stage regulator in multi-regulator gas distribution setups, such as feeding several individual RVs from a single large propane source, or as part of a two-regulator system where a second, low-pressure regulator further reduces the 30 PSI output down to the roughly 11" water column pressure that RV appliances actually require.

This regulator is typically used: • As the first stage in a two-regulator setup, paired with a second low-pressure regulator that steps the 30 PSI output down further to appliance-safe pressure • To distribute propane from a large central tank (such as a 1,000-gallon supply) to multiple separate RVs, each with its own downstream low-pressure regulator • In applications specifically requiring a 30 PSI supply pressure This regulator should NOT be used to feed RV appliances directly without a downstream low-pressure regulator — doing so would deliver dangerously high pressure to appliances designed for low water-column pressure. If you need a regulator to feed RV appliances directly from a propane tank, look at MB Sturgis's two-stage regulators (such as the Two-Stage Regulator or Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator) instead, which handle both pressure-reduction stages in one unit.
Installation Steps: 1. Shut Off Gas Supply: Close the tank valve completely before installing or replacing a regulator 2. Confirm System Design: Verify whether this regulator is intended as a stand-alone high-pressure stage or as the first stage feeding a downstream low-pressure regulator — confirm your overall system design before installation 3. Mount Horizontally: Install the regulator in a horizontal mounting position per the included instructions 4.
