12V hardwired dual carbon monoxide and propane gas alarm detector for RVs, with surface-mount installation and simultaneous CO/LP safety monitoring.
The MTI Industry 45-741 Safe-T-Alert alarm detector combines carbon monoxide and propane/LP gas detection in one 12V RV safety device. It is designed to monitor for both dangerous CO buildup and propane gas leaks inside motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, truck campers, and other RVs.
This 45 Series model is a surface-mount alarm detector, making it a practical replacement option when the existing detector is mounted to the wall surface rather than recessed into a large cutout. It is commonly used to upgrade older single 12V propane gas alarms to a dual CO/LP alarm detector when the mounting style and wiring match.
The alarm is powered by the RV’s 12V DC system, so there are no disposable alarm batteries to replace. As with all RV safety detectors, the installation location, wiring, and replacement model should be checked before ordering.
Detects carbon monoxide and propane gas in one RV alarm detector
Runs from the RV’s 12V DC electrical system
Mounts to compatible RV wall surfaces without a large recessed cutout
Meets RV CO and propane gas alarm listing references
MTI Industry 45-741 is a surface-mount combination CO/LP alarm detector. Do not use it to replace an LP-only alarm unless upgrading to dual CO/LP detection is appropriate for the RV and the wiring, mounting location, and detector footprint are compatible. If the old detector used relay or propane shutoff valve control, verify the correct relay model before ordering.
Disconnect 12V power before removing the old detector. Confirm the existing alarm is a compatible 12V hardwired surface-mount detector and compare the footprint, screw locations, wire routing, and wall location. Connect the new alarm according to the included MTI instructions, then test both CO and LP alarm functions after installation.
Package Contents: • 1 MTI Industry / Safe-T-Alert 45-741 CO/LP gas alarm detector • Mounting hardware/instructions as supplied by current manufacturer packaging NOT Included — May Also Need: • Smoke alarm • Relay/solenoid-control wiring components • Propane shutoff solenoid or generator shutdown relay • Replacement wiring, connectors, fuse, or circuit repair parts • Trim ring or adapter plate unless supplied by current packaging • Propane system inspection or CO source diagnosis • Professional RV electrical or propane service This listing is for the CO/LP gas alarm detector only unless otherwise stated.
Before ordering, confirm the old detector model, voltage, mounting style, wiring, color, and wall footprint. If replacing an older LP-only alarm, verify that the 45 Series CO/LP alarm is the correct upgrade and that a separate CO alarm is not already required elsewhere by the RV layout or local code.
If the alarm sounds, carbon monoxide symptoms are present, or propane odor is detected, evacuate the RV immediately. Shut off propane if safe to do so, avoid flames, sparks, smoking, appliances, generators, electrical switches, and phones inside the RV, and have the RV inspected before use. Do not ignore, disable, cover, paint, or relocate the alarm outside the manufacturer’s approved installation instructions.
