Black 12V hardwired propane/LP gas alarm detector for RVs, with universal replacement design, low-profile housing, low-voltage warning, and trim ring for retrofit installations.
The MTI Industry 80-441-BL-TR Safe-T-Alert alarm detector is a 12V hardwired propane/LP gas detector designed for RV interiors. It continuously monitors for propane gas and activates an audible alarm when dangerous gas levels are detected.
This 80 Series model is designed as a universal replacement for many existing RV propane alarms. The alarm body measures 4.25" wide by 2.75" high, while the included trim ring expands the coverage to 7" wide by 4" high, helping cover old screw holes, wall marks, or previous detector cutouts.
The low-profile black housing is a good fit for darker interior panels or trim areas. Since this is an LP-only detector, it should be used where the existing safety device is a propane alarm, not a carbon monoxide alarm or combination CO/LP alarm.
Alerts occupants when dangerous propane gas levels are detected
Runs from the RV’s 12V DC electrical system
Provides 7" x 4" coverage for many retrofit installations
Detector body is only 0.75" deep without the trim ring
MTI Industry 80-441-BL-TR is a propane/LP gas alarm detector only. It does not detect carbon monoxide, smoke, fire, or gasoline vapors. If the original detector was a combination CO/LP alarm, use the correct combination replacement instead.
Disconnect 12V power before removing the old detector. Confirm the existing alarm is an LP-only, 12V hardwired detector and compare the mounting location, wire routing, screw holes, and wall footprint. Use the trim ring as needed to cover the previous cutout or screw holes, then wire and test the new alarm according to MTI instructions.
Package Contents: • 1 MTI Industry / Safe-T-Alert 80-441-BL-TR LP gas alarm detector • Black trim ring • Mounting hardware/instructions as supplied by current manufacturer packaging NOT Included — May Also Need: • CO alarm or combination CO/LP alarm • Smoke alarm • Replacement wiring, connectors, fuse, or circuit repair parts • Propane system inspection or leak repair • Additional wall repair materials or adapter plate • Professional RV electrical service This listing is for the LP gas alarm detector with trim ring only unless otherwise stated.
Before ordering, confirm the old detector is an LP-only, 12V hardwired RV propane alarm. Compare the existing detector’s size, screw locations, wire routing, color, and wall marks. The included trim ring provides 7" x 4" coverage, but very large cutouts or damaged wall panels may still require repair.
If the alarm sounds or propane odor is detected, evacuate the RV immediately. Shut off propane if safe to do so, avoid flames, sparks, smoking, appliances, generators, electrical switches, and phones inside the RV, and have the propane system inspected before use. Do not ignore, disable, cover, paint, or relocate the alarm outside the manufacturer’s approved installation instructions.
