Marshall Excelsior 350 PSI Rated Made in USA MER613-12 -- 3/8" Female Flare Swivel x 3/8" Female Flare Swivel Propane Hose, 12"

A short, heavy-duty LP gas hose built for RV propane systems where a rigid connection is not practical. The Marshall Excelsior MER613-12 connects two 3/8" female flare swivel fittings with a flexible thermoplastic hose rated to 350 PSI working pressure -- well above the operating pressures of standard RV LP regulators and appliances.

Reliable LP Gas Connections for RV and Propane Systems

The MER613-12 is a 12-inch propane pigtail hose designed for liquid propane gas service. Both ends terminate in 3/8" female flare swivel fittings, letting you make secure, leak-free connections without twisting or stressing the hose body during installation. The swivel design is especially useful in tight underbelly compartments and propane locker setups common in travel trailers, fifth wheels, and motorhomes.

Marshall Excelsior has manufactured LP gas equipment in the USA for decades. This hose carries UL listing and CGA approval, meeting the safety requirements demanded by RV manufacturers, propane dealers, and inspectors. Crimped brass ferrules at each end provide a permanent, vibration-resistant seal -- no clamps to re-torque over time.

350 PSI Working Pressure

Rated well above typical RV regulator output. Handles both vapor and liquid LP service safely.

3/8" Female Flare Swivel Both Ends

Swivel fittings allow easy hand-tight positioning without twisting the hose body during hookup.

UL Listed and CGA Approved

Meets recognized safety standards for LP gas hose assemblies used in RV and stationary applications.

Crimped Brass Ferrules

Factory-crimped ends eliminate field-assembled clamp joints -- the most common source of LP hose leaks.

Construction and Materials

The hose body is flexible thermoplastic, compatible with LP gas (propane) service. It includes built-in thermal protection to resist heat from nearby appliances, engine compartments, and summer ambient temperatures. The overall length of 12 inches makes this a pigtail-style connector suited for short runs between regulators, manifolds, cylinders, and appliances -- not long distribution runs.

Swivel Fittings Make Installation Easier
Because both ends rotate independently, you can thread each fitting onto its mating connection without spinning or kinking the hose. This is particularly useful when one or both connection points are partially obstructed inside a propane locker or utility bay.

Typical RV Applications

  • Connecting an LP regulator outlet to a distribution manifold or T-fitting
  • Short pigtail between dual-cylinder auto-changeover regulator and the supply line
  • Flexible bypass between rigid copper or steel LP tubing runs where vibration isolation is needed
  • Service connections at LP appliances (ranges, water heaters, furnaces) with 3/8" flare inlets
Thread Compatibility Note
The 3/8" female flare fittings on this hose mate with standard 3/8" SAE 45-degree male flare fittings commonly used throughout RV LP gas systems. These are NOT pipe thread (NPT) fittings. Verify your existing connections are 3/8" male flare before ordering.

Pull Test and Safety Ratings

Beyond the 350 PSI working pressure rating, Marshall Excelsior rates this assembly to 400 lbs pull test, confirming the integrity of the crimped ferrule-to-hose bond. In an RV application where hoses can be inadvertently tugged during storage bay access, this mechanical strength rating matters as much as the pressure rating.

Check for Leaks After Every Installation
Always perform a leak test with an approved LP gas leak detector solution after connecting or reconnecting any propane hose. Do not use flame to test for leaks. Inspect the hose visually before each camping season for cracking, abrasion, or kinking.
Maintenance Tips
- Inspect annually for surface cracking, stiffness, or abrasion damage.
- Do not allow the hose to contact sharp metal edges or exhaust components.
- Replace if the hose shows any sign of damage, discoloration, or odor of LP gas at rest.

Important Information
  • This hose is rated for LP (propane) gas service only. Do not use with natural gas, compressed air, oxygen, or other gases not specified by the manufacturer.
  • Maximum working pressure is 350 PSI. Do not exceed this rating under any circumstances.
  • Both fittings are 3/8" female flare (SAE 45-degree). They are NOT pipe thread (NPT). Confirm your mating fittings are 3/8" male flare before installation.
  • Always perform a leak test after installation using an approved LP gas leak detection solution. Never use an open flame to test for leaks.
  • Inspect the hose before each use season. Discard and replace if the hose shows cracking, kinking, abrasion, or any sign of damage.
  • Installation should comply with NFPA 58 (LP Gas Code) and all applicable local codes. When in doubt, have a licensed LP gas technician perform the connection.
