A direct-connect propane pigtail hose built to route LP gas from a standard propane cylinder to a two-stage regulator. At 15 inches, this hose gives you just enough slack to account for tank position without excess line that can kink or sag. Thermal protection on the hose body helps guard against heat-related degradation in close-quarters RV installations.
The Suburban 523007 is purpose-built for RV propane systems that use a two-stage regulator setup. One end threads directly onto a standard DOT propane cylinder with a Type 1 ACME nut -- the same left-hand-thread connection used on the vast majority of portable and RV-mounted LP tanks sold in North America today. The opposite end is a 1/4" inverted male flare fitting, which mates with the regulator inlet or a pigtail manifold.
This pigtail style hose is commonly used in dual-tank automatic changeover systems and single-tank installations where a short, flexible connection is needed between the tank valve and the regulator body. The flexible design allows the hose to move slightly as the tank shifts during travel without stressing the fitting threads.
Standard left-hand thread connection fits virtually all North American DOT propane cylinders, including RV horizontal and vertical mounted tanks.
Industry-standard flare fitting mates with two-stage regulators and pigtail manifolds without adapters in most RV applications.
Protective sleeve on the hose body shields against heat exposure common in enclosed propane compartments and engine bays.
Short pigtail format reduces excess hose that could kink. Ideal for installations where the regulator mounts close to the tank valve.
This hose is designed to work with:
Thread the Type 1 ACME nut onto the tank valve by hand, then snug with a wrench -- do not over-tighten, as ACME fittings are brass and can be damaged. Thread the 1/4" inverted male flare into the regulator inlet and tighten with a flare nut wrench. After connection, test for leaks using an approved LP leak detection solution -- never use an open flame. Allow the hose to route without sharp bends and keep it away from exhaust heat sources.
