Arvika 7002AFFB3 Travel Trailer A-Frame Bike Rack Kit

Carry two bikes on your travel trailer tongue without drilling a single hole. The Arvika 7002AFFB3 clamps directly to your A-frame and handles tire widths from 2.25" to 3.25", covering most mountain, hybrid, and road bikes -- all with a 200 lb combined weight rating.

Haul Two Bikes Without Modifying Your Trailer

Most travel trailer owners either tow bikes inside their tow vehicle, strap them unsafely to the back of the trailer, or skip bringing bikes altogether. The Arvika 7002AFFB3 solves that problem with a purpose-built rack that mounts to the steel A-frame tongue of your travel trailer -- no drilling, no welding, no permanent modifications required.

The clamp-based mounting system secures directly to the A-frame tubing, and the adjustable tire cradles open wide enough for fat-ish tires up to 3.25" while still gripping narrower road and hybrid tires down to 2.25". Whether you are headed to a trail system, a lake campground, or a state park, your bikes ride out front where they stay out of the way and travel safely.

No Drilling Required

Clamp-on design attaches to the A-frame without permanent modification to your trailer.

200 lb Combined Capacity

Rated for up to 200 lbs total -- enough for two full-size adult bikes with gear.

Adjustable Tire Cradles

Fits tire widths from 2.25" to 3.25" -- compatible with mountain, hybrid, and most road bike tires.

Made in Canada

Arvika products are engineered and manufactured in Canada for real-world RV and trailer use.

What Is Included

The 7002AFFB3 is sold as a complete kit. Everything needed for a two-bike installation on a standard travel trailer A-frame is in the box:

  • Two adjustable bike cradle arms
  • A-frame clamp mounting hardware
  • Straps and securing hardware for tire retention
  • All fasteners required for assembly

No separate adapter kit or additional mounting hardware purchase is required for a standard A-frame tongue installation.

Clamp-On Design -- No Permanent Modifications

The 7002AFFB3 attaches using a clamping mechanism that grips the steel tubing of your trailer's A-frame tongue. This means the rack can be removed and reinstalled in minutes, and your trailer stays unmodified for warranty or resale purposes. No welding, no drilling, no patching holes later.

Tire Width Compatibility

The adjustable cradles accommodate tire widths from 2.25" to 3.25". This range covers:

  • Most 29er mountain bike tires (2.25" to 2.6" common trail widths)
  • Hybrid and cross-country tires in the 1.75" to 2.2" range -- note: tires below 2.25" are outside the rated adjustment range
  • Plus-size mountain tires up to 3.25" (e.g., 27.5+ tires)
  • Standard 26" mountain bike tires in typical trail widths

Road bike tires narrower than 2.25" and fat bike tires wider than 3.25" are outside the designed adjustment range and may not secure properly.

Tongue Weight Awareness

Adding two bikes to the front of your travel trailer increases tongue weight. Most travel trailers are rated for 10-15% of gross trailer weight as tongue weight. Adding 50-80 lbs of bikes at the very tip of the A-frame can meaningfully affect trailer handling and hitch weight on your tow vehicle. Weigh your loaded tongue before towing and confirm it is within your hitch and vehicle ratings.

Installation Overview

The rack installs using the clamp system without specialized tools. General process:

  • Position the mounting bracket over the A-frame tubing at a stable, flat section of the tongue
  • Tighten the clamp hardware to secure the base to the trailer frame
  • Attach the bike cradle arms to the base
  • Load bikes, adjust tire cradles to the tire width, and secure with provided straps

Inspect all clamp hardware for tightness before each trip. Road vibration can work hardware loose over time.

Pre-Trip Maintenance Checklist

  • Retighten all clamp bolts before every tow -- vibration can loosen hardware
  • Check tire straps for wear, fraying, or UV damage each season
  • Inspect the A-frame clamping area for paint wear or frame contact corrosion annually
  • Apply a light coat of anti-seize or grease to bolt threads if storing in wet climates

Important Information

  • Maximum combined weight capacity is 200 lb. Do not exceed this rating -- overloading can stress the A-frame clamp and cause rack failure while towing.
  • This rack mounts to the A-frame tongue of a travel trailer. It is not designed for fifth wheels, bumper-pull hitches, or tow vehicle-mounted use.
  • Tire width must be between 2.25" and 3.25" for proper retention. Tires outside this range may not seat correctly in the cradles.
  • Retighten all clamp bolts before every trip. Road vibration is a real hazard -- loose hardware can result in a bike separating from the rack at highway speed.
  • Adding bikes to the A-frame increases tongue weight. Verify your hitch tongue weight rating and tow vehicle payload capacity before loading the rack.
  • A bike lock or cable is not included. Secure your bikes against theft when parked at a campsite.
  • Inspect the rack and clamping hardware after each trip and before storage. Replace any worn straps or corroded fasteners promptly.
