Detects both carbon monoxide and propane/LP gas leaks simultaneously — and automatically shuts off gas flow via the included solenoid valve when a leak is detected. The relay is built into the alarm unit; the solenoid valve is the separate brass component that installs on your propane line. 12V hardwired, flush mount with trim ring, alarm mute button, rapid recovery sensor. Meets RVIA/NFPA requirements. UL 1484 RV and CSA 6.19 listed. White.
The MTI Industries 25-742-R-WT-TR-KIT is the Safe-T-Alert 25 Series dual CO and LP gas alarm with built-in relay and solenoid valve — the complete kit for RVs that need both gas detection and automatic propane shutoff in a single compact flush-mount unit. The relay is an internal component of the alarm unit itself, not a separate physical piece; it's the switching circuit that controls the solenoid valve. The solenoid valve is the separate brass component (included in the kit) that installs on your propane line. When dangerous CO or LP gas levels are detected, the alarm sounds and the internal relay simultaneously signals the solenoid valve to close, cutting off propane supply at the source.
The kit includes the alarm unit, trim ring, and a 3/8" NPT solenoid valve for installation on the propane line. The alarm is 12V hardwired — no batteries to go missing or die at the wrong moment. A flush-mount design with trim ring covers old installation cutouts when upgrading from a single-gas propane-only alarm to this dual unit, making retrofitting clean and straightforward. The alarm mute button silences the alarm while the RV is being ventilated, and the rapid recovery sensor reactivates the alarm automatically if dangerous gas levels remain after muting.
• 1x Safe-T-Alert 25 Series dual CO/LP alarm (white) • 1x Trim ring • 1x 3/8" NPT solenoid valve • Mounting hardware Black version of this kit: • 25-742-R-BL-TR-KIT — Same alarm in black Without relay (alarm only, no solenoid): • 25-742-WT-TR — White, no relay or solenoid valve
Alarm only (25-742-WT-TR): Sounds when CO or LP gas is detected. You must hear the alarm and manually close the propane supply. If you're asleep or away from the RV, gas continues to flow until someone responds. Alarm + Solenoid Relay (this kit): When dangerous levels are detected, the alarm sounds AND the relay immediately closes the solenoid valve on the propane line — stopping gas flow automatically, even if no one is present to hear the alarm. For unattended RVs, overnight sleeping, or any situation where a delayed human response is a concern, the relay-equipped version provides a critical additional layer of protection.
The included solenoid valve uses a 3/8" NPT thread. Some older RV propane lines use 1/4" NPT fittings — if your existing line is 1/4" NPT, you will need a 1/4" MPT to 3/8" FPT adapter to connect the solenoid. Measure or confirm your propane line thread size before installation. Install the solenoid valve in a normally-closed configuration so that gas flows only when 12V power is maintained through the alarm — if the alarm triggers or power is lost, the valve closes.
