CarCover 5-Ply Top / 3-Ply Sides Lifetime Warranty Gold Shield 5L Class A RV Cover -- Fits 33 to 37 Foot Motorhomes

Purpose-built for full-size Class A motorhomes, the Gold Shield 5L delivers multi-layer, all-season protection without trapping moisture against your paint. Reflective panels, zippered entry points, and a tool-free buckle system make this a serious long-term storage cover, not a seasonal tarp. Part number 5RV-CA-3337.

Heavy-Duty Coverage for 33-37 Foot Class A Rigs

Class A motorhomes represent a significant investment. Leaving one exposed to UV radiation, acid rain, tree sap, bird droppings, and seasonal ice without proper coverage accelerates paint oxidation, promotes mildew growth inside vents and slides, and can void manufacturer finish warranties. The Gold Shield 5L is engineered specifically to address all of these failure modes in a single cover.

The cover ships in a manageable 25 lb package and installs without tools. The weighted buckle system pulls slack out of the fabric automatically, and elastic hems at the front and rear corners hold the cover tight even in gusty conditions. A slip-seam profile hugs your rig's roofline and body contours to reduce wind load and billowing.

5-Layer Top Panel

Four polypropylene PLUS layers plus one micro-porous film layer block rain, UV, and ice while allowing trapped vapor to escape upward.

3-Layer Side Panels

Two polypropylene PLUS layers and one micro-porous film layer protect sidewalls without building up condensation against the paint.

Zippered Access Panels

Heavy-duty zippered panels let you enter the motorhome, check connections, or access storage bays without removing the entire cover.

Reflective Safety Strips

Reflective panels on the cover improve nighttime visibility for drivers passing a stored rig in a driveway, campsite, or storage yard.

All-Weather Protection -- What It Blocks

The Gold Shield 5L is rated to protect against the full range of outdoor hazards that degrade Class A exteriors over time:

  • Rain and standing water -- micro-porous film sheds water without allowing pooling
  • Snow and ice accumulation on roof and slide toppers
  • UV radiation -- reflective outer surface deflects solar heat and slows fiberglass gel coat fading
  • Tree sap, bird droppings, and airborne debris -- over 98% of dirt and dust blocked from surface contact
  • Hail and wind-driven particulate
  • Mildew and rot -- micro-porous film promotes airflow so moisture does not accumulate under the cover
Breathable, Not Waterproof Plastic: The micro-porous film layer is the key differentiator from cheap polyethylene tarps. It repels liquid water from outside while allowing water vapor from inside the RV to vent outward -- preventing the mildew, rust, and paint bubbling that solid plastic covers cause during long storage.

Fit System and Installation

The 5RV-CA-3337 cover is sized to fit Class A motorhomes from 33 to 37 feet in length, with an overall cover dimension of 37.5 ft long x 8.92 ft wide x 10.08 ft tall. This generous sizing accommodates most standard Class A roof heights and slide-out profiles within that length range.

  • Elastic hems at front and rear corners pull snug around bumpers and caps
  • Adjustable buckle straps with weighted ends cinch down slack along the sides
  • Slip-seam construction contours to body curves and reduces wind catch
  • Ladder cap panel protects cover fabric from sharp ladder rungs on the rear
  • Gutter guards shield the cover from abrasion at roof gutter edges
  • Built-in roof vents at multiple points allow continuous air exchange
  • No tools required -- one or two people can install the cover in under 30 minutes
AC Unit Clearance: The cover profile accommodates up to three rooftop air conditioning units in standard positions. Confirm your AC units are within the 10.08 ft height envelope before ordering if you have non-standard dome heights or added roof racks.

Construction and Durability Details

CarCover uses double-line stitching at all panel junctions -- the stress points where covers typically fail first. This reinforced seaming extends the usable life of the cover significantly compared to single-stitch competitors. The gray color is not decorative: a light, reflective exterior reduces heat buildup under the cover in summer storage, which protects rubber seals, wiring, and interior materials from heat cycling damage.

Storage and Maintenance Tip: When not in use, store the cover in the included storage bag in a dry location. Rinse the cover with fresh water periodically during extended outdoor use to clear debris from the vents. A patch kit is included for field repairs to minor fabric punctures.

What Is Included

Important Information
  • This cover is sized for Class A motorhomes from 33 to 37 feet in length only. Using on a shorter or longer rig will result in poor fit, reduced protection, and potential cover damage.
  • Maximum covered height is 10.08 ft. Rigs with elevated roof additions, satellite domes, or non-standard AC units taller than this envelope may not fit properly -- measure your rig's height before ordering.
  • Do not install the cover over a wet or dirty RV exterior. Wash and dry the motorhome before covering to prevent trapped grit from abrading the finish during wind movement.
  • Inspect buckle straps and elastic hems seasonally. Replace or retighten if the cover begins to billow or shift in wind, as a loose cover causes more surface abrasion than no cover.
  • The patch kit is for minor field repairs only. Large tears or seam failures should be evaluated under warranty with CarCover directly.
  • This listing is for the cover only. No installation hardware beyond the included buckle system is required or provided.
Protecting your RV with a quality cover is essential for maintaining its value and longevity. RVs are significant investments that are often exposed to harsh weather conditions, making them susceptible to damage from corrosion, mold, and UV rays. Unlike standard vehicles, RVs serve as mobile homes for many, and a cover can provide added insulation and privacy, enhancing your comfort while protecting against the elements. By investing in an RV cover, you reduce wear and tear, ensuring that your RV remains in excellent condition for years to come.

How To Measure Your RV:

Length: Measure the longest distance from the front to the rear of the RV, including bumpers, spare tires, and ladders. Measure to the front of the bumper or the bunk area, whichever is farther.

Height: Measure the highest point of the RV's sidewalls from the top of the roof to the outside frame, excluding ground clearance and roof-mounted accessories.

How to Install Your RV Cover:

1. Identify the front of the cover by locating the "Front" tag on the interior.
2.
Lay the cover lengthwise on the ground, inside out, with the exterior facing up.
3.
Fold the sides toward the center and roll the cover from the rear, leaving the front end loose.
4.
Position the rolled cover at the rear of the RV near the ladder.
5.
Loosen the roll slightly, then climb the ladder while holding the front end.
6.
Pull the cover onto the roof gradually until you have a strip covering the entire roof.
7.
Starting at the front, unfold the cover side to side, letting it drape down the sides as you move to the rear.
8.
Ensure the corner opposite the ladder is positioned under the cover’s corner.
9.
Climb down while bringing the cover down with you, then adjust the cover as needed.

Removal:

1. Undo all straps and zippers on the cover.
2.
Lift the front of the cover to the top of the RV.
3.
Pull the cover down from the rear.

For Cleaning:

Proper care of your RV cover is essential for maintaining its performance and water resistance. Contaminants like dirt and grease can damage the cover, so regular washing is recommended for long-lasting protection.

You can wash the cover by hand or in a washing machine. For hand washing, install the cover on your RV, rinse it with a hose, then use a cloth and multi-purpose cleaner to scrub. Rinse again and either towel dry or let it air dry.

For machine washing, use the largest machine available, set it to gentle mode, and wash with mild powder detergent in cold water—avoid bleach and fabric softeners. Rinse the cover twice to remove all detergent, and always air dry.
