CarCover 5-Ply Top / 3-Ply Sides Lifetime Warranty Gold Shield 5L Class C RV Cover -- Fits 35 to 38 Foot Motorhomes

Purpose-built for Class C motorhomes in the 35 to 38 foot range, the Gold Shield 5L delivers heavy-duty, layered protection against UV rays, rain, snow, wind, and debris. With a breathable micro-porous film core, zippered access panels, and adjustable buckle straps, this cover is engineered for long-term outdoor storage without trapping damaging moisture against your rig's finish.

All-Season Defense Built for Extended Storage

Class C motorhomes in the 35 to 38 foot class represent a significant investment, and leaving them exposed to months of sun, ice, and bird droppings takes a measurable toll on paint, seals, and rubber roofs. The Gold Shield 5L is designed specifically to address every one of those threats with a multi-layer fabric system -- not a single-ply tarp.

The five-layer top panel combines UV-resistant polypropylene outer layers with a micro-porous film that blocks liquid water while allowing interior moisture vapor to escape. That breathability is the key difference between a cover that protects your RV and one that traps condensation and breeds mildew. The three-layer side panels add crosswind and side-sun protection without adding excessive weight.

5-Ply Top Panel

Five-layer construction with UV-resistant polypropylene outer fabric and a micro-porous breathable film core blocks rain and snow while letting trapped vapor escape.

3-Ply Side Panels

Three-layer sides defend against sun exposure, wind-driven rain, road splash, and debris. Extended top fabric drapes down the sides for added overlap coverage.

Zippered Access Panels

Zippered entry panels let you access RV doors and exterior storage compartments without removing the entire cover -- critical for long-term storage situations.

Secure Fit System

Adjustable buckle straps eliminate wind billowing and fabric fatigue. Elasticized front and rear hems grip the corners for a snug fit that resists shifting.

Breathability -- Why It Matters for RV Storage

Standard tarps and non-breathable covers trap condensation between the fabric and your RV's exterior. Over weeks and months, that moisture softens caulk, promotes mold growth on rubber seals, and causes surface oxidation on fiberglass and painted aluminum. The Gold Shield 5L's micro-porous film layer allows water vapor generated by temperature swings to vent outward while physically blocking rain, snow melt, and standing water from penetrating inward.

Mildew and Rot Resistance: The breathable film layer is the primary reason long-term storage covers should be rated for breathability. This cover is specifically designed to prevent the trapped-moisture damage that ruins paint, rubber seals, and roof membranes over a storage season.

Wind Security and Installation

A cover that billows and flaps in wind acts like sandpaper on your RV's clearcoat. The Gold Shield 5L addresses this with adjustable weighted buckle straps that cinch the cover tight against the body and eliminate the slack that causes fabric to beat against the surface. No tools are required for installation -- the elasticized hems and buckle system handle retention without ropes or bungee cords.

  • Adjustable buckle straps remove slack and prevent wind lift
  • Elasticized front and rear hems conform to the RV's body corners
  • Weighted buckles make solo installation manageable
  • No tools required for setup or removal

Surface Protection Details

Beyond weather, the Gold Shield 5L is built to handle the everyday hazards of outdoor parking and campsite storage:

  • Blocks over 98% of dust and dirt from reaching exterior surfaces
  • Shields against tree sap, bird droppings, and hail impact
  • Sun-reflective gray fabric reduces heat buildup inside the cab and living area
  • Ladder cap protects the cover fabric from tearing on sharp ladder edges
  • Gutter guards prevent tearing where the cover contacts rain gutters
  • Reinforced double stitching at stress points extends cover lifespan
  • Reflective panels improve low-light visibility in driveways and campsites

AC Unit Clearance

The cover is designed with sufficient height and top-panel clearance to accommodate Class C motorhomes equipped with up to three rooftop air conditioning units -- a common configuration on 35 to 38 foot coaches. The cover drapes over AC shrouds without requiring cutouts or modifications.

Multi-AC Compatibility: Fits Class C coaches with one, two, or three rooftop AC units. No modifications or add-on panels needed for standard AC shroud heights.

Important Information
  • This cover is sized for Class C motorhomes 35 to 38 feet in length only. Measure your RV's overall length before ordering -- do not estimate. Using on a longer coach will leave the rear hems unsecured.
  • This cover is NOT designed for use while driving. Install only on a parked, stationary RV.
  • Do not install over a wet or dirty RV surface for long-term storage. Wash and dry the exterior before covering to prevent trapped contaminants from etching paint or clearcoat.
  • Slide-outs must be retracted before covering. The cover dimensions do not accommodate extended slides.
  • Inspect roof seams, vent seals, and caulking before long-term covered storage. A cover does not substitute for proper roof maintenance and will not prevent leaks through failed seals.
  • The patch kit is included for field repairs of minor tears or punctures. Large or seam-level damage may require cover replacement.
Protecting your RV with a quality cover is essential for maintaining its value and longevity. RVs are significant investments that are often exposed to harsh weather conditions, making them susceptible to damage from corrosion, mold, and UV rays. Unlike standard vehicles, RVs serve as mobile homes for many, and a cover can provide added insulation and privacy, enhancing your comfort while protecting against the elements. By investing in an RV cover, you reduce wear and tear, ensuring that your RV remains in excellent condition for years to come.

How To Measure Your RV:

Length: Measure the longest two points from the front to the rear of RV, including bumpers, spare tire, and ladder.

Height: Measure the highest point of the RV sidewalls from the top of the roof down to the outside frame, excluding ground clearance, roof-mounted accessories, vents, and A/C units.

How to Install Your RV Cover:

1. Identify the front of the cover by locating the "Front" tag on the interior.
2.
Lay the cover lengthwise on the ground, inside out, with the exterior facing up.
3.
Fold the sides toward the center and roll the cover from the rear, leaving the front end loose.
4.
Position the rolled cover at the rear of the RV near the ladder.
5.
Loosen the roll slightly, then climb the ladder while holding the front end.
6.
Pull the cover onto the roof gradually until you have a strip covering the entire roof.
7.
Starting at the front, unfold the cover side to side, letting it drape down the sides as you move to the rear.
8.
Ensure the corner opposite the ladder is positioned under the cover’s corner.
9.
Climb down while bringing the cover down with you, then adjust the cover as needed.

Removal:

1. Undo all straps and zippers on the cover.
2.
Lift the front of the cover to the top of the RV.
3.
Pull the cover down from the rear.

For Cleaning:

Proper care of your RV cover is essential for maintaining its performance and water resistance. Contaminants like dirt and grease can damage the cover, so regular washing is recommended for long-lasting protection.

You can wash the cover by hand or in a washing machine. For hand washing, install the cover on your RV, rinse it with a hose, then use a cloth and multi-purpose cleaner to scrub. Rinse again and either towel dry or let it air dry.

For machine washing, use the largest machine available, set it to gentle mode, and wash with mild powder detergent in cold water—avoid bleach and fabric softeners. Rinse the cover twice to remove all detergent, and always air dry.
